Well, I've found my excitement again, after the Swannies pulsating 5 point win against the Falcons. So what's in store this round?

Swans v Perth - Friday, 2:45pm, Bassendean. Should be a cracking match, with both sides fairly evenly matched, I believe. A healthy smattering of current and soon to be AFL talent, with Notte, Davis, Smith alongside Naitanui, Yarran, Garlett and Wolfenden up against Butler (first game back), Sullivan, S Selwood aided by Thornton, Krueger and Siekerka (who I thought was great against Subi). Looking forward to this one much more than last week's game. Also the top 2 colts teams with a lot of talented youngsters on display after the dawn service!

Subi v West Perth. Well, you might say, next, but I think the Falcons can have a real crack at Subi, providing they play like the last half of last week's game. They have often troubled Subi in the past few years and they have kept Campbell, Warnock and Bradley, so who knows? Should be a good one.

Cl v Souths, should realistically be a high quality, absorbing match with a host of AFL listed players and potential draftees, as well as the local talent these teams have developed on their lists.

East Freo v East Perth, well it's East Freo's chance to get their initial win with a heap of AFL listed players against a team that many thought was decidedly thin on quality depth before the season started. M Carr back for East Freo and Tarrant remaining for East Perth should also make this match more interesting.

Yep, I will be at Bassendean Saturday, should be a stonker of a game!!

Do you know which game is being televised?

You better not turn up on Saturday, it's a Firday game, all grades now, as well. Saturday, the Subi v WP game is televised.

Now with Seaby to lead the WP ruck, are they a chance to beat Subi? Makes this game all the more interesting. They certainly have the forward structure to stretch the Lions, but defensively can they contain them. This is certainly looking to be a cracker.

Potentially 4 very even games on the 1 weekend, could be a good weekend for WAFL footy. 3 of those games look like they could be corkers!!

Well, we saw a pretty good match yesterday, which probably should have been a goal or less margin, rather than 33 points. Perth kicked themselves out of this one. Eastaugh was filthy after the match for their kicking, but it shows both teams have improved from last year.

Oh, and the crowd was fantastic about 4-5,000, I estimate. Didn't have the goalsquare to ourselves like we normally do. So good work to all those that turned up.:thumbsu:

Couple of Naitanui marks were highlights, he finally held the ones he was threatening to for weeks. Hansen was great up forward as was Jeff Garlett from the wing and Yarran chipped in when he needed to. Sullivan for Perth was great, as was the tireless Cookie and the Young brothers were good as well, although Seamus was one of the main culprits at missing the easy goals.

Earlier in the day the colts had lived up to what I expected and it was 1 point to Perth at about the 10 minute mark of the last and then Swans kicked the last 6 goals to overrun the Dees.

Now, hopefully we get a cracker of a match between Subi and WP!:thumbsu:

4-5000 would be a bloody brilliant crowd if that's what it was. SBO is a good venue as well.

Just watching the first quarter on TV today, and I have to say Subi are a bloody good side, even though they are a bunch of cheats. Money certainly can buy you a flag.

Official crowd figure in the paper was 3,500 approx.

If they only counted 3,500 they must have missed including one of the gates because there was a lot more there. I know it was free until noon because it was Anzac Day so maybe they didn't count the freebies?

At Perth's after match awards Easty correctly said we should have had the game won by half time. 6 more inside 50s and 10 more marks inside 50 apparently.

:(

Typical sour grapes little brother syndrome. Who do you support in the AFL...? Oh, there you go.

It's called smart recruiting, shame none of the other clubs were bright enough to think of doing it.

Come on, if you seriously believe Subi aren't rorting the cap then you need your head examined. Everyone knows it, the WAFL knows it but isn't prepared to put money into enforcing it, and Subi knows that. That's why they go out at the end of every year and buy more players.

BTW, official crowd at Basso on Anzac day was 6,177. Top effort. :thumbsu:

Bronte is that you?

Although SOR, I heard today that Subi had put a substantial offer to Cookie before the season. Now, why would they need Cooke? They have about 15 of his type of midfielder already.
