Griggs was a massive spud who unable to pronounce anything but when compared to Hammer and Basil the lurch she seems like a real professional.

Both are grade A flogs. Basil in particular seems to get a heap of gigs across different sports while doing a shit job on all of them. God knows how he keeps getting a gig. You could also listen to his howlingly unfunny morning radio show which is tanking to get a good idea of his "day job".

I'd rather have Slats commentating than him!

Good for him. I always thought he was much better than some of the others at 7 that had better jobs than him, hope he has a good role at Fox. Bad luck for me as I don't have pay TV so I am stuck with Bruce et al

I like when Hewitt does special comments for AO if he is k.o in an early round.

Courier-Bruce-Lleyton is the AO night match dream team as far as I am concerned. They all offer something different.

There are some better tennis commentators out there, but hell, this is Channel 7 we are talking about.

I did notice that Woodbridge has improved a lot over the last 12 months. Usually despise him, and don't rate his opinion too highly, but previous AO and Wimbledon he was quite good.

Bruce offers nothing. I don't see why ch7 persist with someone whose job it is to say '30-30, wow, big point here' when they could have another analyst who actually knows a bit about the game.

True, but you do need that MC in there at times. Otherwise the two experts start sounding like a late night armchair conversation (which can make it hard to keep awake during Wimbledon/French Open).

The problem with Bruce is that he can't keep to the MC role, he tries to get too involved and it drowns out the other two, who I actually enjoy listening to.

McEnroe is one that I really enjoy too. I like Leconte for the entertainment value but not in big matches. Apart from those four I don't think I could name a tennis commentator I don't hate.

That's probably fair but I'd take someone losing his marbles over those who never had any in the first place (I'm looking at you Basil/Bruce).
