I'm amazed at the number of people who are falling for the Graham Cornes "Let's re-appoint Gary" campaign.
Yes, he is a solid upstanding courageous honourable man who would be your first choice to take into battle with you.
No, he is not the right man to take Adelaide to a flag. Unimaginative, wrong selections, wrong match-ups, very stubborn and too slow to make positional moves.
To suggest that we don't change the coach because we can't be guaranteed that the next one will be better is so stupid as to be laughable. It just guarantees that the current mediocrity will be maintained. Every team would have 80 year old coaches if they all adopted this approach.
IMO Gary is not going to be our coach next year. On this basis, the only question is do we tell him now or at the end of the year. I think we should tell him now that he won't be re-appointed, but not sack him, and appoint a sub-committee now to start the search for next year's coach.
