Before you all look at your calendars...

Happy Friday the 13th!!!

Wondering who's superstitious amongst our lot-- or do you have any superstitions, beyond the normal broken mirror/black cats/walking under ladders/etc. type of stuff?

Back home, my family had a black cat (not unlike the one on the Geelong Cats logo :D ), and BC would cross our path all the time, and did us no harm. :)

Others?

Cheers,
William

I am very superstitious. I reckon it's gotta be the Irish in me that causes it.:D

I will not under any circumstance walk under a ladder. I was on my way to work last week, and as I came to my building there was a ladder leaning from the side of the building across the footpath. So instead of walking under the ladder and then straight into my office building. I walked back up the street, crossed at the lights to the other side of the road and then walked about 100 metres further down the road to cross back over, then walked back up to my office building.

Broken mirrors are another thing. I threw a brush at a mirror in a temper tantrum when I was a child, and cracked the mirror. For ages I worried that I would have bad luck for 7 years.
As for today, Friday the 13th, I was told years ago that on that day it is bad luck to actually write the date on anything. So if I have to date anything today, I will put 12 September 2002!

There are a lot more superstitions I have too, but I'll leave it at that.

Well when I was 15 years old during my summer school holidays I worked as a Factory Hand at a furniture manufacturing place.

Whilst moving some parts I knocked over a stack of mirrors and broke about 12 mirrors at once. After doing the math of 7 years bad luck per mirror I worked out that I have 84 years worth of bad luck racked up, so there goes the rest of my life.

Now I care about superstitions and if I break a mirror, walk under a ladder, see a black cat crossing the road it doesn't phase me... I just think "oh well add it onto the end of what I already have"

It has allowed me to live a worry free life now in regards to superstitions. :)

Cheers

Got a foot in each of the yes and no camps I think.

My b'day is on the 13th of a month, so sooner or later I end up with Friday the 13th as my b'day. So that part no.

Ladders and cats don't really bother me. Nor mirrors.

But "things coming in 3's" always seems to happen to me. As well as the "never sleep with moonlight on your face" and last week my footy finals superstition was in overdrive and I was getting extremely worried about the outcome of last weeks game. Eventually it fell into place, I stopped worrying, and then we won.
