I was watching Michael Christian, Kevin Sheehan and Andrew Maher talking about the draft and I felt like like punching Christian's big fat mouth. The sheer arrogance of these ***** really gets to me. Oh the Crows tried to get Gibbs but he is now a blue. His father Ross didn't play enough in the time frame. No mention of the cheating way the laws were changed to suit their F/S etc. Bragging about how Tom Hawkins would have been the number one pick anyway and how great it was that Geelong got him.

Some of u will say get over and for the main I am but when I see arrogant Vics like this all the anger comes rushing back. As a side note, would someone please explain to me how Carlton has been punished for cheating? They lose draft picks after trades have been made, so other teams were severely disadvantaged, then they are guaranteed to finish bottom for the next 3-4 years at least, so they get priority picks for those drafts. What sort of real punishment is this?

Christian is a West Australian, although based in Melbourne since playing for Collingwood.

I dont think you cant say Carlton hasn't been punished after losing access to the draft for a year or two and their subsequent spoons. Still i personally think a rule should be brought in that clubs shouldn't be able to have 2 number 1 picks in consecutive years.

The whole thing is a disgrace,I remember Eddie saying they ( Adelaide) will never get him. Please correct me but I believe we are the only club that has never had a father son player.

Please don't confuse arse-kissers for Victorians. ;)

I don't think Victorian commentators are any more arrogant than SA or WA commentators. You may want to get some kind of opinion from interstaters listening in on your local commentators to get some kind of comparison.

As to the whole Gibbs scenario, it is unfortunate that he wasn't eligible to play for the Crows but he should have been a Port Adelaide player as they originally would have access to him. The re-shuffling of clubs and the rules made sure he wouldn't be picked up by any South Australian club, perhaps the two clubs there should look at blaming eachother rather than the evil Victorians. ;)

It wasn't Victorian clubs that brought the matter of Gibbs' ineligibility to the AFL, it was Port Adelaide.

Anyone with even the slightest understaning of rivarly between Port Adelaide Magpies and Glenelg Tigers would never even think of that let alone say it.

It would be like saying that Nathan Buckley's son (if and when he has one) should be playing for Carlton instead of Collingwood. The fact that Glenelg was aligned to Port Adelaide originally was a joke in itself. As big a joke as Port Adelaide Magpies being aligned to the Crows.

Agree totally. I was amazed that Glenelg was aligned with Port originally as well. WTF were they thinking. Glenelg were the Crows first breeding ground and have always had a strong affiliation with them. As for us being as arrogant as the Vic's, no chance in hell, yes we may be a bit arrogant and defensive but the whole world knows besides the Yanks, the Vics are as full of it as it gets.

Well said I have always been a Bay supporter, & have never been able to stand Port of any form over 60 years.

I agree with you 100% but if the changes weren't made he would have only been a chance to go to Port, as weird as it was. Probably as weird as the Cornes boys playing for Port. ;)
