Any hints or suggestions on who may play the part of villain in season 3?

Seeming as he is in Hong Kong in the past storyline I can only anticipate that it would be someone related to that but i'm not overly familiar with the comics or secondary DC villains.

The League of Assassins or H.I.V.E. Tipping Argus and Waller for Season 4.

Just read the show will return on October 8 (with the Flash show on the previous night - btw, you can see the Flash pilot if you want, has been leaked).

Nice. Arrow, The Flash and The 100 in October and Reign looks decent so I'll probably check that out as well. Looks like it could be a good month for shows.

Sin City's Devon Aoki Joins Arrow: Season 3 in Recurring Role

The CW's Arrow has added a recurring guest role for Season 3. Deadline reports that Devon Aoki (2 Fast 2 Furious, Sin City) will join the Warner Bros. television show as Tatsu Yamashiro. The character also has another name familiar to DC Comics fans: Katana. She's described as "a Japanese martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword, a blade from which her codename Katana is derived."

About the role:

Deadline states that Yamashiro will play a role in Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) flashbacks. At the end of Season 2, he left the island and ended up on Hong Kong. Yamashiro will be one of his mentors and a "critical influence on his journey to eventually become The Arrow of present day."

Any ideas on what could be announced later this month?

"You know I'm going to be at San Diego Comic-Con International this year, but you have no idea what I'm going to be doing. The Arrow panel on Friday evening is the literal tip of the iceberg. Feel free to speculate. There are (at least) 3 more things on my schedule. Big things. Needless to say, I plan on winning Comic-Con this year. Captain Style."

I believe Cyborg has also been cast/announced and there were rumours of Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson being cast as the Green Lantern a few months back too.

Pretty sure he pooed pooed that idea of Arrow on big screen on FB. Smoke & mirrors?

Could be smoke and mirrors - who knows? The guy who has basically been cast as Aquaman has been denying rumours for months haha.

For those that have seen the Flash TV Pilot, there was an interesting easter egg at the end of the episode which could have big implications on future shows/movies.

Queen Inc merges with Wayne Tech - essentially meaning that Both companies 'exist' in the same world...

The Rock casting was not for John Stewart, but for Black Adam. Although i think there was talk of Lobo also. But the GL one was never anything i think DC said they were working on a villain for him to play.

As for the arrow and Flash shows being in the same world as the movies im not sold on. DC will go after someone who has more experience than a TV actor to play Flash in the movies and someone they think can carry a solo movie. I can see them using the same Ollie but never a big part on the Justice League.

Another casting announcement! Pretty exciting to see 'The Atom' (even though I don't know a great deal about him) coming to the show. Do you know much about him aussiedude?

Apparently the actor is the same guy who played Superman in Superman returns.

Word of warning, there could be potential spoilers in the linked article about the role he will play on the show and some possible story lines we might see in season 3.

I watched the flash pilot and I know arrow wanted to steer clear of the real superhero powers even in the villains but with flash and co obviously possessing powers and both existing in the same world, do you reckon they will change Arrow up a bit and we will see some real super powers from the bad guys on Arrow?

The link doesnt say he will be the Atom which is good because its a throw away character who invented this suit thing that can make him as small or as huge as he wants to be. So glad it said he will be as Ray Palmer. I dont think he will be used as the Atom much. but could be interesting to see how they use him if hes not as a College professes or Scientist at somewhere. i would of expected them to put him as someone who has taken over STAR Labs. but taking over QC could be interesting, Since he is one of the smartest men on earth.

Yeah, I liked how Arrow (season 1 at least) started off with that Nolan's 'Batman' universe where they made it seem more realistic (with less emphasis on powers and superhumans). I liked in the Flash pilot how they still showed Ollie 'impressing' Barry with his climbing/archery skills after they finishing their little talk. Like you said, given they had the superpowered soldiers and Slade (plus Cyrus Gold - who I think eventually becomes Solomon Grundy in the comics from memory) in season 2 and now with the addition of Flash, I wonder if they will 'beef up' Ollie's skills so he can stay on the same level as those guys (maybe by increasing the range of different arrows he has in his quiver?).

That's actually a good point mate (re him being cast as Ray Palmer and not the Atom). I wonder if his casting might have some longer term thinking behind it (maybe he will 'become' The Atom during the course of the season and that might lead to a spin off show or something further down the track).

After re-reading the article, it doesn't sound like he will start off with powers (could be wrong) and certainly having access to the applied sciences division at QC could give him the means to use his intelligence/throw up some plot lines.

I'm curious to see if Ollie will try and get his company back in season 3 because if he does, that could potentially make Ray a villain/antagonist (though I'm guessing Malcolm will be the main villain in S3).

It sounds like CW want to jump the superhero shark sooner rather than later with rumours that they're also looking into doing a live Young Justice show. There was a cartoon of it a few years back that was actually pretty good but it's hard to see all three shows working in the same universe. Roy could easily cross over to help set it up but either way I hope it's a few seasons down the track if at all.
