Injury Astbury - Knee cap dislocation

Drove home last night apparently.
They said on MMM that he was still in Sydney after having scans.

Also just read on the Direct from Dimma email that he will be out for the rest of the year.

Our backline has been hit hard by injury, especially our KPB's

Grimes
Moore
Thursfield
Connors
and what was with Mcguane that he didn't pull up for sunday??

Dave had his surgery this afternoon.

How do I know this? Well my old man went in for a knee arthroscope today and the person sitting next to him being prepared for surgery before him was none other than young Astbury! Doesn't sound like the nurse knew who he was. Clearly not a tiger fan!

Good luck to him! Hope he has a steady recovery & hopefully with a full pre-season we can have him fit and firing next season in defence!

Interesting that he required surgery which doesn't sound too good and suggests that there must have been some damage.

I have also dislocated my patella laterally which tore the fluid sack in my knee. Whilst it didn't require surgery, the amount of fluid in my knee took about 2 months to disappear which meant it was about 5 months before i could play sport again as the muscles just waste away to nothing.

Not a great injury as it is so easy to do it again. The second time i did it I was lucky not to do any ligament damage again and because my fluid sack was already ruptured, i had no swelling. I was able to return to sport in about 2 - 3 weeks.

Hope all goes well for him for next year but it wil be something he's just going to have to constantly manage.

Better to happen now than round 24, frankly. 5 months until preseason begins so no rush at all. Won't be running around much but you'd expect some decent core strength next year. And some huge guns

David astbury gained considerable weight in the off season last year alot more than the usual 1st year player.

With his current knee injury and the restricted running the next 6 months one would think he will hit the weights bigtime & come back in the pre season a monster Ready to tackle the biggest KPF

Could be a blessing in disguise here.

Only a 2 month injury. Just a minor hiccup compared to a 12 month full reco :thumbsu:

Still a horrible injury that has the potential to seriously impact on ligament and kneecap stability further down the track. Derailed my junior career at 16.

Sorry to intrude guys, but I just found your user name popcap, so ironic in consideration to this thread title.

Quick recovery to Astbury.
I did my knee three months ago and still have swelling and bruising behind the knee.
No fun.
