Couple of things out of this

1) we were 70% of the club allocations that attended friday night

2) estimate we had 75k overall

3) target is at least 80k for saturday

We cant do shit about the game on saturday on the field, but we can do one thing.

Cats fans are still bitching about how hostile the g was on friday. This is the norm in wa and sa, but new to the g because the the opp support and neutrals

We have to make the g our own, and again a loud and offensive place for any opposition player to run out to.

If you cant make it, give your membership to a mate. Get your tigs friends to come with you who normally dont. If you are afl/mcc, stay in that area so us plebs dont get locked out.

If gws come we will be 95%+ of the crowd, so we have to do all the heavy lifting on this one

Lets make the g our fortress

I still think mid to high 80's vs either team we play.

A lot of supporters will realise that they potentially won't be able to make the Grand Final (provided we make it).

Hoping to get Saturday off work so I can go. How do I get tickets for mates to sit with me if I'm an interstate member?
Enter all the tickets together through Ticketek in one transaction.

You put in the members codes together in your online order

If not members, hoping we get 2 seats per membership given its up against an interstate team (no word yet)

I want to be able to bring the missus as she has never been to a final but as she is not a member I couldn't bring her last week. Hopefully will be able to bring her next week

I think we can crack 90K even against GWS. If it's West Coast they will bring as many as Geelong so that's a no brainer.
Richmond in a prelim is a rare occasion and the last 2 prelims we played in we weren't even serious contenders. On Friday night it just got serious. A few factors will help push it to 90K

- It's a prelim and the only game in town so neutral AFL and MCC members will be there in big numbers
- The Richmond factor will bring in the bandwagoners and intrigued neutrals by the f**kload.
- Surely 95% of our 75K members will be clamouring for tickets. Then there's the supporters who aren't members.
- The media hype and build up next week will be huge. It will have special event status.

90k would be disappointing imo. 95-100k is what I'm hoping for

For those asking, the finals FAQ already says members can't buy extra tickets. One ticket only per member barcode.

Re the crowd number, I don't see any way there is as big an MCC/AFL members turnout. I think v GWS it would be 80-85,000 and v WCE would be 85-90,000.

Recent prelim crowds at MCG involving an interstate team:

2012: Hawthorn v Adelaide - 69,146
2014: Hawthorn v Port - 74,856
2016: Geelong v Sydney - 71,772

Tigers will get a bigger home turnout than either Hawthorn or Geelong did for those, but there will be significantly less away turnout if GWS makes it and a marginal difference to away turnout if WCE makes it.

Maybe the Tigers factor is THAT big to neutrals, but it will be surprising to me if there are more than 95,000 there next weekend.
