Considering the game is a sell out it will be around 41-43000.

You're not suggesting that your club has... bandwaggoners.... are you??

;)
Nope, just that all the members will turn up because our team will be playing finals footy next week

So they weren't all turning up when finals didn't look likely... but now that it's virtually assured they'll be there.

Hmm.. let me check my little dictionary of AFL terms....

Yep, as I thought. Bandwagonners... ;)

Go on, admit it - all teams have them - including yours. :)

No, I would have thought bandwagonners jump on when a team is winning. I'm talking about the members actually turning up - and if they're already a member it's pretty hard to call them a bandwagonner.

A subtle difference i know, but a difference nonetheless.

BTW - I do agree that all teams have bandwagonners, I just think that's more from season to season with a club like ours who have such a high proportion of patrons at games being members

the whole bandwaggoners-arguments are getting a little tiresome. Obviously, the people who come on bigfooty are not bandwaggoners since we dedicate copious amounts of our precious time to informing other, less informed fans of our own wonderful clubs. Every team has its bandwagonners but hey it's obviously not anyone on bigfooty, so who cares.

I know, I know... but we get that argument thrown at us all the time, so give and let live I say! :)

Anyway - maybe the subtle difference is there... but there are prob a fair few of your members who think... geez we better sign up so that when things are good our seats are assured (you are pretty close to your membership limit aren't you?). Then they don't bother turning up when the going is tough, but come out in full force when the going is good.

My uneducated guess would be that they are the supporters who are the "chardonnay swilling range-rover" types, the ones who can afford the seaons tickets but only bother to go when the team is flying - the ones that give your "dyed-in-the-wool, I'll be there win-lose-or-draw" WCE supporters the label they so despise.

Not that I think anyone here fits that bill - of course... ;)
