hopefully it was sent today because vader said he would send on friday or over the weekend

Steven Trigg has only just had a hip replacement operation, so it's unlikely he'll be around for a while.

Just to make sure, I sent the email today to both Steven Trigg and John Reid suggesting that the multiple personalities that make up afccomau might also help with the answers.

So yes, the email has now gone to the club. :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Said in the Sunday mail that Trigg was not granting interviews while he is recovering but he will be back in 3 weeks

Ill admit it... id get a slight kick out of all of this, if the response is a complete and utter snubbing. :o

Why would you get a kick out of knowing the club has snubbed an important part of their membership base and didn’t (or couldn’t be bothered) take the time to communicate with them?

I am not really concerned if they give an honest, fully in depth or even just a politically correct answer, as long as they take the time to answer question that member may have. As i said in the OP, not everyone can get to information nights; this is just an alternative form of communication between club and members.

This feeling of self importance is exactly why id find it kind of funny.

Stop being a prat and lighten up.

Dont get me wrong...

This is a great idea, and it would be awesome if the club did answer...

Theres just a part of me that would get a bit of a kick out of seeing three months worth of question forming completely snubbed. That and the aggressive indignation of some of the early questions was a bit off.

I do like the well worded versions worked out later though.

The club doesn't owe us answers. Bigfooty may be a haven of relatively intelligent football supporters but it doesn't even come close to representing the general demographic the club calls supporters.

That being said, it would be neat if they were to answer the questions. The fact that afccomau posts here already displays they are willing to communicate with Internet AFC fans.

I'm not sure I would get a kick out of them simply snubbing the email, but I can see why ST would. We're basicaly just a group of 20 or 30 people on a message board (I'm referring specifically to the Adelaide subforums, I think only 20-30 people post regularly enough to be considered the furniture here). If my work colleagues and I cobbled together an email list of questions I wouldn't expect a reply then either.

And they will.

John Reid was good enough to respond to my email, pointing out that they get many, many requests such as ours and it would involve endless hours to get involved in that manner. For that reason it is their policy not to respond to such requests.

Fair enough IMO.

However, being the good man that he is, he also suggested that I ring him which I did. As a result of that conversation it's been arranged that I'll ring him Monday, at which time he'll verbally give answers to these questions, which I'll bring back to this forum.

I can't do it before Monday as I'm involved in a 2 day off-site strategic planning session tomorrow and Friday.

John was terrific actually. One of the reasons that he is prepared to give up time to answer these questions is because he is aware that the group of people who are asking them are people who are passionate about their footy, and more particularly the Crows.

I'll post the responses either Monday night or Tuesday at the latest.

Are you going to be recording the conversation? Just wondering if you'll be giving us exact quotes or if you'll be paraphrasing him.

That would be poor form to record the conversation.

I'll take notes and paraphrase Reidy's replies.

Well - it is pretty standard in any kind of interview to record it. Wouldn't he rather that than the potential of being misquoted?

That being said, you spoke to the bloke, so you would have the best sense of what he's expecting, so whatever you feel is the right thing to do is what should happen.

Good work on organizing this!

M23 :thumbsu: Thank you for showing the initiative to send this E-Mail off.

It depends if this is really expected to be a 'formal interview' per say, or just a way of communicating with the fans.

imagine rucci salivating in his uniquely disgusting and excited way at some of the qoutes he could obtain from this exercise. the man, if you can call him that, loves to interpret and put his own spin on things and im sure this wont be any different.

interesting to see how 'insightful' these qoutes from reid will be

Maybe old 'BigHawk' should have his viewing privledges revoked.

But without trying to sound like a prat or self involved with the topic, what you said was never the original idea. It was never intended for any ground breaking stuff or anything like that. I got the idea on grand final week reading ‘The Advertise’ of all places on line and they had Dermott Brereton on and people had the opportunity to ask him questions.

Some of the questions were quirky, some were insightful, and some had no relevance at all. But the average punter had the opportunity to pick his brain and find out things you had never known before.

In the end it eventuated to the point of where supporters asked some serious question and some not so serious question. I am sure JR will not reveal any trade secrets that Rucci can salivate over.
