Lley Lley go night night.

B-Tomic next?

Serena Williams monstered Ash Barty last night. Serena serves harder than Lley Lley and his conqueror Seppi.

I have learned from the ads that Australia's Sam Groth has the wrold's fsatest recorded serve - 263km/h. Did he fire that ball out of a rocket launcher?

He lost in straight sets in round 1.

Hitting the ball that hard he probably got 15 double faults in a row.

Adelaide's own Thanasi Kokkinakis won his first round match. Now he gets to play Rafa after he had a virtual first round bye.

Kokkanasis's good friend Nick Kyrgios also rolled over Benjamin Becker.

Watching Maria Sharapova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands, I thought their might be a chance for a Nikolai Volkoff v Hacksaw Jim Duggan type confrontation pre-match but sadly it was not to be. Mind you the cameras cut to Mattek-Sands' husband and stuff me if he doesn't look like good ol Hacksaw Jim.

Casey Dellacqua is up to the fourth round-go girl!!:thumbsu:

Casey Dellacqua has continued her Australian Open odyssey with a 6-2, 6-4 win over China's Zheng Jie to advance to the fourth round.
She will meet 30th seed Eugenie Bouchard in the fourth round - the furthest Dellacqua has ever progressed in the competition - after the Canadian beat America's Lauren Davis 6-2, 6-2.
Dellacqua was dominant in the Melbourne heat against Zheng, powering through to claim the first set in 33 minutes.
The second set looked to be a formality until Zheng broke Dellacqua's serve to level it at 4-4.
But Dellacqua hit back immediately, breaking in return to eventually take the second set 6-4.
"It feels pretty good," said Dellacqua.
"I didn't know if I'd ever be back in the fourth round of an Australian Open, or any grand slam.

Sorry to see Kyrgios lose last night. Put up a great fight but his young body wasn't ready yet. Has a heck of a power game.

His K-brother Port's own Kokkanakis had the unenviable task of playing Rafa who had a warm up set in round 1 thanks to B-Tomic.

Geez she just can't handle playing big games in Oz. Does well overseas getting deep into tournaments but just can't get deep into the Oz open especially when she is in form.

Ch 7 have probably given up on her making it to the 2nd week ever again.

Unfortunately Sam's record in the Aust Open isn't very pretty, love that woman just wish she would go on with it soon.

2002-1st round loss to 121st ranked Greta Arn

2003- 3rd round loss to Daniela Hantuchova ranked a very respectable 8th

2004- 2nd round loss to Aniko Kapros, ranked 80th in the world

2005- 1st round loss to Amelie Mauresmo ranked no 2

2006- 4th round loss to Martina Hingis on her comeback

2007- 2nd round loss to Jelena Kostanic Tosic ranked no 67

2008- nobody-did not play

2009- 3rd round loss to Elena Dementieva ranked no 4

2010- 4th round loss to Serena Williams

2011- 3rd round loss to Petra Kvitova ranked no 28

2012- 1st round loss to Sorana Cirstea ranked low at the time

2013- 2nd round loss to Zheng Jie ranked no 40

With Ana Ivanovic bundling out Serena Williams, Stosur's loss doesn't look so bad.

For years I wondered why only tennis players got bundled out of an event/tournament and now you hardly ever hear the term being used.

Big Win by Wawrinka. Roger Rasheed gave him a big wrap before the game. It took Djokovic 5 sets to beat him at the US Open semi's last September.

Who knows - maybe an all Switzerland final as Federer is in the other half of the draw. Already has a gold medal with Federer at the 2008 Olympics.

Wawrinka also lost an epic five setter to The Joker in the Oz Open 4th round last year. So he definitely owed him one. Plays Berdych in a semi now. Murray, Nadal and Federer are all on the other side of the draw.

Switzerland's second best player has a huge serve and massive power game. He could give it a big shake now.

Hopefully Federer's body holds up I'd love to see him win. FWIW I don't think anyone else can beat Nadal besides him and Murray now.
