JESSICA MOORE
IMO she's one to keep an eye on and she has genuine talent. I know starting a thread like this is a bit risky because she could do an Annabel Ellwood but I think she’s too good for that. She's only 17 years of age and comfortably won her 1st round match against Julie Ditty, dropping only 5 games. I was at her 2nd round match against Peer and she started very slowly in front of a vocal crowd. Peer’s one of these annoying players who gets everything back and Moore found the going tough early as she struggled with Peer’s game and her nerves. She lost the first set without winning a game but her performance in the 2nd set gave me a lot of hope for the future. She was engaged in a very tight struggle but unfortunately lost 7-5 in 56 minutes. To put up a fight like that after what happened in the 1st was a very good effort.
She is technically pretty sound. She hits well off both sides and she has a more than acceptable serve. The winner count was 23-7 in Peer’s favour and she was all too often passed despite being in a respectable position on the court. Peer passed her with ease at times however I think she has great potential. She has a solid game, and once she improves her vollies and adds some strength and power to her game she could be a great prospect for Australian tennis. That's the main area of improvement, adding strength to her frame.
She won her girls singles match 6-1, 6-2 today and should go quite far in that event.

Seriously, Reid was considered a good up and coming Australian player and a few years later he's nowhere to be seen.
