OK dudes, who has any away games that they're pencilling in as a 'must be there' (apart from the finals of course ;))?

For mine: I am planning to be at the v Collingwood game on the 18th of April, should be a bit of a laugh and we are in with a huge chance IMO. Also, v Essendon at Docklands on the 28th May is a goer.

Anyone else going to be at that game?

I was but decided not to after being there last year. Word of warning, don't buy anything to eat their. My brother got food poisoning from eating one of their pies!

I have a friend who used to work at Ciccerellos. He reckons he once saw a seagull accidently land in the deep fryer, while it was trying to nab a chip. So, what do you think the good folk at Ciccerello's did about it?

Simply fished out the seagull, and kept frying those chips, (so just watch out for feathers).

Sorry....back to the topic.

So now at Derby time I have to be at gate 8 looking out for an old lady wearing purple who has lost her faculties.

At least with the red shirt, she would've stood out a little.

Yep, i've had my flights booked for Sydney for a few months. Going to the Collingwood game a couple of weeks later as well. Long live domestic airline price wars. :)

Getting tickets to the Collingwood game should be easy, AFAIK yoiu just ring Wayne Hughes in Victoria and he sets them up for you to pick up on match day and you get to reserved seating with other Dockers fans (at least that's what I did last year for the Essendon game). Anyone know the deal with the Sydney game? Might just buy general admission and find my way to a group of people in purple.

im probably heading to sydney for the round 2 encounter aswell.

doubt you all care though, dont want a 15 year old cramping your cool style.

The deal is that the Cheer squad (from Vic) has the first 4-6 rows of Bay 14 roped off. As non CS people, we don't get to sit within their roped section, but can sit directly behind or next to the area so that all the purple devotees can be all sitting together.

Bay 14 is general admission (about $20) - and I have been advised to get there early to guarantee a seat with every one else.

(and being the maternal type avdbrm - and I'll have my 7 year old with me - I'd be more than happy to have you cramp my style... if I had any! ;) )

Last year at Sydney, lastminute.com.au had a 2 for 1 offer... but then the game was a near sellout, so I doubt they'll do that again.
If you do sit in or near Bay 14, make sure you take a hat and sunscreen...you are looking into the sun all day... last year almost fried us, despite it being in August. If you get the back rows you might be undercover (I think it's the Walter's stand above). Can't see the video scoreboard well from there though.

Cool, thanks IP. I'll probably try and get the tickets mailed to me before I leave.
