Well, todays result has just gone to show our difficult it is to go back to back (given Essendon have lost only 12 games over the past 3 years). We will come to realise, just how special 1997 and 1998 was.

The bonus of course is the cup has left Victoria again. Congratulations, Lions.

I dont think any crow supporters appreciate enough the 97-98 success.

It was a marvelous effort, considering we had to play 6 away finals in the 2 yrs.

I don't think we'll ever realise what happened in 97/98. Some say that it never sinks in about winning a grand final, like it's one long dream.

Seems so long ago that Back to Back was made possible.
I must admit 1998 is taken for granted. I will never take 1997 for granted though.
Ah!! How sweet it still is
