Man, ive been having that feeling every challenge we encounter (Essendon, Brisbane, Sydney etc) expecting the bubble to break, but the boys keep putting in. Gotta keep the faith

:p

I remember I was the same in 2002.

You guys are a good young team, hang in there.

The beauty with a young side full of confidence is that the sky is the limit, just like us in '02.

Just ride the wave - it'll be one of the most enjoyable years of your life.

RobinHood ,
Has your faith been hardened. We did not play at our best nor did they unlike at the start of the year when they were flying at the top of their form.
One of many things that has impressed me over the last 13 weeks is our ability to win without playing at our best. Since 02 we have shown glimpse's but when our form has been subdued or tempered we have lost.
I still believe we dont have the total package as a side.
Kingsley is not the answer at FF, without Beg Ben we had no real marking power up forward. Another quality Ruckman/follower is needed, when King is out of the ruck we just lose to many out of the middle. Is it all part of the same problem with the same solution? Is it Blake? Is it Ottens? Is it Meesen?
We lacked run today and could have done with a guy like Spriggs who can run all day,our ball skills were down any way so he might not hurt as much as some think and we did not have answer to stop Harvey, who is our #1 defensive mid because he should have been on him , not Wojo

Now with all these probs you would think that we lost by 10 goals but no we struggled on, played tough, we Won Both sides lost players, both side could say they had good players out. Have to say Saints V Cats would make a hell of a day GF

You're spot on! What we have here is a team which gives us a window of opportunity for the next 5-6 years. (Acknowledgement to Barry Richardson writing in the 'Sunday Age' for that thought.) We should enjoy it while we can! Personally, I love seeing the Cats playing the hard, head over the ball, accountable brand of football they're playing right now. With the consolidation of the team over the next few years, and hopefully a key forward (sorry Kent!), we could really challenge. You don't get too many chances in AFL football, and the Geelong teams of the 90's would testify to that. I think huge credit must be given to Costa, Cook and Thompson, and, of course, the players. We haven't won anything yet, but I really think for the first time in my lifetime we could!

No I was just fearing the bubble would break. I agree that one of the features of our side shown by today and the season so far is the capacity to win without playing good football.

I thought we got killed in the midfield despite the stats looking okay. I think Kell, Enright, Ricco and Beamer being out really showed at times today.

I don't think that we are legitimate grand final contenders with Enright and Kelly out for the rest of the year. I think while we have depth I think if we meet a good side aka Brisbane fired up without these players our depth will start to show signs of weakness like it did today.

Althought I believe we can win a couple of finals and definitely win one.

Lighten up abit Turbo; we won, go easy on the boys game :p

Regarding your statement on Harvey, I think although he got alot of the pill, he wasn't as damaging as usual. Quite a few of his disposals were actually rather shocking for a player of his class and stature.

I thought Harvs and co in the midfield killed us today.

As mentioned above, it was in my opinion that Harvey wasn't very damaging with his disposal.

Ball and Dal Santo were the only two who really held their heads high.

Black was pretty good as well, but apart from those four, there isn't anyone else I can think of who had some sort of influence in the midfield.

For us, I thought Ling, Corey, Dash, and Bartel played well and were just as damaging, if not more, in the decisive battle.

Midfield slaughter? I think not

Too Tough probably because I didnt list all the positives I noticed. My point was only made because our Sherwood mate thought we would get done by 10 goals and although we played far from our best we still got the job done.

Im willing to admit I was wrong, I thougth our bubble was going to burst. I was wrong and look silly. As for my comments regarding the midfield. I though we won defense and attack but lost the midfield.

FWOW,

I thought the midfield struggled manfully during the course of the game. Certainly King was influential in the early parts of the last quarter, and Mooney continued his great form. Ling contributed all day, without (in my opinion) being outstanding. On the other hand, Harvey got a fair bit of the ball, but didn't really hurt us. The pressure on our part was constant, and that was very pleasing.

Where we looked in trouble during the last quarter (notwithstanding our fantastic endeavour) was a focal point in the forward line. There's a lot to like about our forward line, they tackle and are ferocious in keeping the ball in the forward line, they present well, but I would like to see a big tall bastard (apart from Ben Graham) who presents another option.
