What things give you a bad first impression about a person?

Bad attitudes. People who are pretentious. People that wear clothes with their arse hanging out, **** out or jeans so low you can see undies .

people who seem to have a smile on their face 24/7 come across as fake to me. It's good to be a happy person and smiling a lot is fine, but no one can be that happy ALL the time

Unless you barrack for the Hawks.:D

Someone with no self-confidence is the worst kind of first impression. Followed by loud, obnoxious & over-compensating types.

Being drunk or stoned won't win any favors either....Being overly-familiar, is also a bell-ringer.

Others: Poor personal hygiene & bad breath....'Oh, you mean the guy with halitosis - that one?'.....These are Not endearing qualities to be remembered by.

I once shook my interviewers hand so hard that I fractured her hand in three places but boy did I make a good first impression.

Heard I didn't get the job because I was over qualified. Something about my strengths.

(Story may not be true.)

If there is one bad first impression that I don't like it's those who are drunk and get mouthy and bravado. I try to keep my distance from people who do that.
Also those who give you the "**** off" demeanour when you harmlessly say hello.

Having said the above it's pretty obvious from this discussion that first impressions does not reveal the entire character of a person.
