Yes it may be 6:50am, and i have just got home from the pub, but i must say, Essendon you guys are going in the right direction and its only a matter of time, until you come back to the powerhouse awsome side you were not so many years ago.

I thought your first half of football today was great, with Scotty Lucas down foward taking some awsome grabs, and the run though the midfield is all a good positive.

Altho i would say my man Buddy had a great game, that Paddy Ryder is going to be a star, saw some reallly good stuff from him today.

I will admit, i do love beating you guys and thoes feral supporters around isle 42 were deadshits, but most supporters i soke to after the game were all reallly good.

I spoke to this guy in a wheelchair named stevie or something at the Lockeroom before the game, what a top bloke, hes a hardcore supporter, great to have a beer with the guy.

Anyway, best of luck for your season, to bad we dont play again.
Chin up guys it wont be long. :thumbsu:

The bombers where in control of the game and the ball, every thing they did turned to gold. The hawks on the other hand was feeling the bombers pressure and kept turning the ball over in the first QTR. Top Effort

I think the bombers have some exciting players to build their next generation on Leroy Jetta (love his speed and class in time will be in your midfeild) Remmers, Hillie, Houli, Laycock, Monfries, Nash, Pears and Paddy Ryder who did absolutley nothing wrong in his marking of buddy, loved his attacking busting through the pack mark against Buddy.

Good luck for the remainder of season 2008

Cheers guys.

Enjoyed the game up until getting our asses kicked

I have to hand it to Clarkson and the HFC. You guys have a built a fantastic young list.

Franklin, Hodge, Mitchell, Roughead, Brown, Rioli and my fav Hawk, Sewell... all guns.

Love the way these Hawks are playing footy.. Hope you guys smash the pussies later in the year!

To our boys, great effort.. excellent first half! Let's beat the Eagles next week! :thumbsu:

Cough cough I'd be trading these 2 and McPhee. The latter in particular, although I dont know if any team would want him. Otherwise I think there are good signs. Need Neagle to stay fit tho.

:thumbsu: to you and your Football Club!!

There is a lot to like about the way Hawthorn play, Buddy is a star, both Roughhead and Williams are good supportive forwards and the midfield with the likes of Hodge, Mitchell, Brown, Rioli, Sewell and while he was out last night Crawford make for a really good side.

While I still think Geelong are the better side, if the Hawks and Cats play in the GF the margin will be a lot closer then last years GF.

I'm not sure why I place Geelong ahead of Hawthorn maybe its because they are raigning premiers, the thing that impressed me with Hawthorn is they move the ball really well and the way they moved players up the ground not just to crowd the midfield but allowing Buddy full raign up forward.

Well played in the first half, sign that you can play well. Now just gota keep that level up for 4qtrs. The younger guys have to lift to cover the older guys at the twilight of their careers. Good luck for the rest of the yr.

Thanks for the comments Hawks fans, youre boys were just too fit and too good in the end. We had a great first half, but our younger guys just don't have the tank to go the entire 4 quarters yet.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww how sweet :) Thanks guys, Enjoyed the game heaps!
I think we are lucky that Rioli played like poo! I think he was doing his family proud playing like that against us, Dean probably thanked him hehe. Buddy is one of the best forwards of all time, congrats on that pick up, there is incredible synergy between Roughead and Buddy. I wanna see you guys knock Geelong off the throne :D Good luck

I said the same thing on the hawks board. I see you guys as being where we were in about 04. A few too many old stagers taking up a bit too much sal cap but plenty of good kids to work with. You probably don't recall but we didn't really see the best of Hodge, Lewis, Bateman, Sewell and Mitchell until they 3 or 4 pre-seasons under their belts. They just didn't have the legs. Their skill level and decision making also improved over that time.

If I had a criticism (and I wouldn't be a hawks supporter if I didn't:D) it's that you should have gone with Hardwick instead of Knights. Delighted we kept him but I think he is next in line and will probably coach Saints, Freo or Richmond in 2009 or 2010. Were egos dented in the club when he said that he thought the list wasn't that good?

Good luck for the rest of the season fellas.

I suspect that the answer is yes, or some people were in denial about the the readiness of our player list to take the next step.

Having said that, it doesn't mean I disagree with the appointment of Knighta. I am more than happy to give him time to develop and implement his plan and have the right cattle to execute it. He may well be hailed as a genius in the years to come. :thumbsu:

As frustrating as it is at the moment, lets face it, we've been charmed and haven't had to eat too much shit pie for over 20 years. Not many clubs have similar claims.
