Some people say good things come in small packages, in fact it is on the Dal Santo family crest.
But what do they say when packages disappoint?
Well in the case of Jake Stringer's game on the weekend (and in general) I say LOL and so does the bay evidently.
Teenage girls all over Victoria were told to stay indoors on Friday night as the man affectionally known as "The Package" was cleared to go within 100 meters of a public event in his return to footy. Unfortunately for Essendon supporters "The Package" that was ordered was not what was delivered. Instead of the Stringer we saw in his contract year in 2021, we got the completely pedestrian Jake we've come to know to love for the majority of his time at Essendon.
Stringer who is Essendon's "striker" i.e the 2022 wank term for mid/forward that doesn't understand the term defensive running that is expected to single handedly win matches for their team ala Martin, Petracca etc.
The problem lies with him only touching the ball only 9 times, having a Tom Mitchell like impact only gaining 90m for his team while not at all hitting the scoreboard. In other words the exact opposite performance expected of a player playing in his role.
To compound interest on the lols that were had it was Essendon's birfday and they got smashed by their rivals who are apparently no longer shit. The Bombers now languish in 16th place on the ladder ahead of two historically bad teams.
A shoutout to voters who identified Motlop for the shit truck he is and sneaking him into the votes.
