I think your floating down a river in Egypt. You coached them to a flag - that is why they all stayed. As a coach it is about winning flags - not a popularity competition. Sunbury could not care less if every player did not like you as long as you have years like 2012.

whats the predictions for final 6 this year?

have to be Sunbury for a start, have better list this year than last year. North Ballarat big chance for top two, Redan might drop a little, losing Edwards alone will be a drop off for them, Darley have improved, seemed to have recruited well, Easts will be up there again, Ballarat will be round the 6th spot with Melton South to be the other team challenging for the 6, Dont reckon any of the others can make the 6?

Sunbury would be odds on for back to back. North City will be up there after acquiring edwards. Redan will be strong even without edwards as they have a great junior program and have significant depth. After that there will be a drop off. I think Darley may drop off a tad after losing Porter. He was a key for them last year structurally and they haven't replaced him. Melton South have recruited well, although have lost arguably the best player from last year. Ballarat have lost a few key players and will be interesting to see how they go without them but I'm guessing they will be competitive.

Not sure about the rest.

Sunbury were 10-15 goals better than rest last year and have recruited half dozen players so will be better with more depth again. So sunbury gap, nth city to challenge with excellent recruiting, Grieg Edwards micalef that's good. Think these two with a further gap to darley redan agree losing Edwards hurts but they are super strong underneath and if dj has good year east building. Ballarat and south seeking spot, otto back helps the rat, Sutts dominates again kicks another 60-70 they can push in winning majority home games. The rest, who cares, and really unless you make it to gf day, who cares, sunbury and city all things being equal including injuries play off, the rest save your coin for 2014.

Who are the recruits?

Think darley will be alot happier side! Delahey is a spud. Marsh will struggle i think

Yeah i will agree with you there! Has potenial though. How do you think bacchus will go? No real signings i havent heard?

Not a huge recruiting off season for Bacchus Marsh.
Apart from Hanson, no one of note has left so the following players will boost the squad somewhat.
Adam Skrobolak will be playing 10 games, when his commitments with the Western Jets do not clash.
Mike Suban has returned from North Ballarat.
Rhys McNay has returned from overseas.
Daniel Bonnici a previously from Albion and East Keilor has been recruited.

Around 5 or 6 of the under 18s from the Grand Final side are moving onto the senior list and are expected to contribute throughout the year.

Whilst not a huge influx of players into the club from outside, you would expect improvement from last years 5 wins.

I know what to expect. Another year where they win two or three games but remain positive because they have good juniors coming through. Same as the last 10 seasons.

No one of note, Abbott regular senior player, Schwalger played every game kicked about 30 goals, hard to replace

Mckays both senior ability thats four. Skroba well past it.

Very true! Another tough year ahead perhaps. Seen alot of teams have picked up some good recruits

Abbott was a regular senior player although his performances were pretty ordinary, think the guys coming up from 18s will perform equal if not better than he did. Schwalger whilst handy, often had a lot of negatives to go with his positives. Fairly certain they won't be missed that much.

Whilst the McKay boys have a lot of talent, they come with a lot of baggage.

How do the Bendigo and Ballarat leagues compare? Have a mate from interstate moving into the Sunbury or Gisbourne area. Big loss for our club so close to the start of the season, but will be an early christmas present for his new home.

Both leagues are strong and pretty similar. Your mate could take his pick at either of those clubs and probably take home a premiership medal at the years end. What position does he play and what comp is he coming from?
