Collingwood were very ordinary tonight, yes, we were, but gee, it is great to see the bandwagoners jumping off board once again, after jumping on only a couple of weeks ago. We are the best supporter base in the country, however, from last night, it wasn't just a bad night for the Pies, but a pi$$ weak night from the supporters.
We lost to Essendon, who were 16th, while we are fighting for a top 4 spot. Fair enough, but let's remember a couple of things. We were a laughing stock until we were 8-2 (probably still were a laughing stock). In other words, we were written off by 90% of the football world...the 10% were US, who all rated our chances of 6-10 as a 'possibility' and not exactly 'reality'.
Another thing is that while Essendon might be sitting 16th, and us Pies at 6th, we all know Essendon have the wood over us in the current era. Sheedy is still coaching, and their are still experience in the Dons side. They all play a couple levels higher against us, and every Collingwood supporter should know that. We came in with an arrogant approach you could be certain. Supporters and the Club (they would admit it).
It was a disgrace the amount of callers on MMM were shouting out this is one of the worst losses ever, etc. and how every player should be sacked etc. and also BigFootian's (MagpieWayne=Disgrace) etc. Good on the neutral supporters who rang up and had a good old go at EVERY one of us. We are one and we are all bandwagoners, not just the 20-30% of us. Anyway, it was annoying to hear it, and I expect to see you next month when we play the finals and maybe win an elimination final. So, bandwagoners, have a good break from the footy for a week, and we'll see you in September.
Also, I may aswell start my rant on Tarrant. He is getting payed $20,000 a match. His last 2 months have been dreadful to put it in a nutshell. He has been driven into by the media, which was worthy, but still, I stood up for Taz when I could've been doing something else. I spent atleast 2 hours sitting at a computer sticking up for him. He plays a fair game against WC Eagles after consistently playing shockers. A fair game, but it wasn't exactly worth the money we pay him. Then the incident breaks out etc. and he has played two 'ordinary' games since. It's just not good enough Chrissy, and we all know you have talent, but discipline is a thing that is needed in a football club, and if your star player can't get a kick and can't kick and show something after being burned in the media and public, and continue to receive bronx cheers, you have to earn your spot. Tristen Walker is on our list...bring him in for Taz, whatever. Taz, earn your spot. I still think you will be given one more chance...turn it on if you do or don't.
