Barich on Dockers under Ross Lyon

Kudos on poaching Ross.

My point is this. Do you see Fremantle challenging consistently for the flag in year 2/3 with Sandilands, Pavlich and McPharlin plus 30?

It took us a year and a half or so to develop the Rossco the Bossco style of play and execute it remotely well so I would not be expecting miracles first year.

"AFL legend Leigh Matthews has dispelled any thoughts it would take the Dockers time to warm to the coaching style of new boss Ross Lyon, claiming the change would add fresh impetus inside the club."

Barra mentioned a blue between Ballantyne and Anthony - anyone know much about this?

Well yeah considering he lifted his information (and pretty much everything else in that interview) from our training reports we do here. I wrote a detailed description of the incident and that's pretty much what's ended up being repeated. There were only about 6 people at the most that saw it as it was right up the north end of Freo Oval near the goals, no cameras around but a few of us sit at that end for training.
It was nothing, tempers flared, a bit of wrestling and jumper punching, all over in 2 minutes, they shook hands shortly after and moved on. It happened after Balla flattened Anthony as we kicking and off balance. Jack remonstrated and off they went.

I have to say it gets disheartening when you take the trouble to write things down for people who are fans but don't have the opportunity to get to training or a scratch match then as soon as it disappears off the latest page people just ask the same questions again without bothering to read even a couple of pages back. I notice often I'll write a paragraph on a player and even when it's only 1 page back from the newest posts people will ask hey how's so and so going.

I'm not specifically referring to this question as you would have to dig a fair way back in the pre-season thread to find my report on that day but it just seems to be happening more & more. Just a minor bitch really, I get plenty of love for the reports I do from those that read regularly.

I would be more upset that someone like Barrich Basil etc get paid to be sports reporters, yet they dont go out there an do the reports they steal it from people on the internet who take the time to go there an dont get paid for it.

An if u dont feel like repeating yourself just say well if u read the training reports you would know.
Or go read the training reports much easier than having to repeat it all.
If they cant be stuffed reading through to find it out too bad.

Yes good point.

I find it hard not to answer a question I know the answer to. And yes I realise that's my problem not anyone else's.

Maybe try the 'search function NoOb' response...

Wandered down to training today for what is fast becoming an annual pilgrimage when in town. Couldn't stay for the whole session but it was interesting to listen to Barich having a chat with another journo, might have been a bloke from the west. Not entirely convinced they were overly insightful but they made a couple of points which I found interesting. Barich appeared genuinely pretty excited about lachie Neal coming out of the scratchie, thought zac dawson may not be best 22 again based on the scratchie... Both journos thought mundy would struggle to make round one and given the limited program he was on today you have to wonder.
Having said this Barich appeared amazed Neal was playing as a midfielder and had to ask all and sundry Neal's jumper number.. At least he was there and having a go..

Jeez he's a worry. B*gger the jumper number. Just look for the hobbit sized bloke that isn't Balla.

I too was surprised at how much time Neale had on the ball, and how well he went there. Another great pick by the Freo recruiting mob. I was one that asked "who the hell is this Neale kid, what about picking up (insert prospective KPP here) instead". Proven wrong again, and delighted by it.

Considering what Neale's doing already, I'm looking forward to seeing what his mate Forster does when he finally gets to have a run.

Funny isn't it. Neale was playing seniors footy in the SANFL (and shaping up) while the gun young KPFs people keep telling us we should have picked up were beating up on 16 yo's. Perhaps sometimes we should just let recruiters be recruiters (or let the cobblers do the cobbling as Ross would put it).

Leigh Matthews comments on Freo I can take some heart from......Barra....another half baked former WCE player and now middle aged media hack who needs to learn to drive again....please spare me.

Two whippets, Neale and Ballas rotating between the middle and forward pocket. Ross Lyon would be thinking very exciting times. How tall is Leigh Montagna?

If Neale is the companion pony then Forster is going to be a champion!

Nickname potential then..?

Jardines Lookout (Forster) the Melbourne Cup UK Raider who was inseparable from his little pony friend Henry (Neale).
