They thought his soul recordings were better played on retirement cruises as opposed to launching steaming vical turds directly at the audience.

And their right.

If i was gonna do a soul album I would hire the Funk Brothers for the sessions,not some hak bass player and drummer who had been Jimmis little s h i t m e n for the past 14 years.
