I cant believe nothings being said by Swans supporters??

there was a nice article in todays paper by Nikki Tugwell, can someone pls link it?

Barry Hall, thanks for the memories and a few more to come I hope, a great clubman, great player, Go Bloods!...:thumbsu::thumbsu:

He's a hard player to rate. I consider him elite from 2004 - 2006 but the rest of his career has been very patchy. He delivered a premiership so I can't complain about him and you have to be a decent player to play 250 games.

i adore barry hall
what an amazing character that brings a lot of fun and excitement into our game i can never stay mad at him for 2 long because in the end hes one of us!

Hes also a gentle giant i meet him at the swans dinner last year and we had a little chuckle about the Vesz-tastic banner and then i went 2 training about a week after he hit brent and i told him idd support him and gave him a hug i think it must have been nice for him to know he still did have some support

Congrats on the 250 Baz i hope we get the win for u

Baz has always been one of my favourites. at his best he was in the best 3 or 4 players and the mostd important player in the AFL to his specific team.

As insane as he seems on the field, he is actually a really nice bloke, at least has been every time ive met him or heard him speak informally.

CONGRATS BARRY, very well deserved and he has to be considered one of the best players to play for the Swans.

GET PUMPED FOR A BIG ONE!

It doesn't matter how many times Michael O'Loughlin answers the question, his response is rarely greeted with satisfaction. The inquiries have come from his friends and many schoolchildren, and always centre on the same topic … the demeanour of his Swans accomplice, Barry Hall.

"Whether I'm talking to friends of mine, or when we go out to schools, everyone asks, 'What's Hally like?' " O'Loughlin says of his forward-line companion of the past seven years. "When you say, 'He's a normal guy, a good guy', it's almost disappointment. It's like they're expecting there is more to it. It's like, 'Yeah, but if you look at him the wrong way at training, does he knock you out?'. The reality is Baz is one of the nicest guys you'd meet.

"He's just a normal guy and I love having a beer with him, and having a chat and laugh with him. He loves a laugh, and I'm the same, maybe that's why we get along well. He's been nothing but sensational since he's been here.

"People think he's a big, bad man but he's not. He plays aggressive footy, and the opposition fans love to pick on him, but that can overshadow by how skilful he's been and how fit he has had to be to become that focal point for us and his record speaks for itself. He's been an absolute superstar since he got here. The way he's been able to pull people through the gates and lift the profile of the club and the code up here …

"There's not too many players who can do that. Plugger [Tony Lockett] could, too. When I got here and started going to schools, the kids would say, 'Who are you, and where the hell is Plugger?' A few know me now, but they always want to know, 'Where is Barry Hall?' "

For a bit of perspective on his value as a forward.... Only 25 players in the history of the game have kicked more goals than Barry (If he kicks one today it will be 24).

Good luck Bazza, here's hoping that we break the crows hoodoo for your 250.

Love Baz. Should play on next year if he wants to, he's good enough. I just loathe the idea of having a fwd line with White or Grundy as the CHF ;(

Congrats on a good 250th Baz even though they couldnt get the points for your big one.

Absolutely should play next year and i think he will. Roosy isn't gonna get rid of him cause of the reports etc. he knows how important he is and that he is still good enough to kick 50-60 in a year. Especially with Mick leaving we need some experience in the forward line and Baz is it.

Next year i'd like to see a forward line looking something like:

F: Vezspremi Hall White
HF: Meredith Grundy DOK

I don't know, what's the point in keeping him because we aren't going to challenge for a premiership. Should just play the younger guys and get an extra year into a replacement. I'm sure someone will put their hand up next season to replace him. White can play key position and Goodes can play for longer stints up forward as the 3rd tall.

I already said a Kazillion times even if he isnt useful and we don't have a chance of finals he is a MATCHWINNER and he takes the first defender everytime. then if you get playfairy back he takes the 2nd which leaves White and Johnston with the 3rd and 4th, rotating... even for a year that is valuable.

We need to turn the new players into match winners and they aren't going to be able to shine if Barry is hanging around the F50. If you all want him to retire at the end of next season then we are just a year behind developing one of our younger tall forwards. Hall, Grundy and Playfair isn't the forward line who will be challenging for our next premiership. White has had a couple of years now to get use to the AFL level and has the build to take on a key role in the forward line. White, Grundy and Goodes (who will retire as a forward) should be our forward line next year. Johnston can be the 3rd tall when Goodes goes into the middle.
I want to rebuild properly. O'Loughlin, Hall, Barry and Crouch to go at the end of the year. Another team might want Buchanan (I seriously doubt it though) and I'd think about delisting Ablett. Kirk can stay for a while because he has the leadership qualities that can guide the younger players.
I'm looking forward to the next era for the Swans but I want it to begin as soon as possible rather than try and get an extra year out those who probably won't be around when we start climbing the ladder again.
