With Luke Power shocking everybody and staying with the lions, James Bartel would now be the no 1 target for many clubs. There is not a lot of young talent out of contract so you would think the bidding war will increase now. That could be good and bad news for the cats. You would expect Carlton, Essendon and Collingwood to up there offers now that Power is out of the picture and Bartel is the only young ready made star left on the market to fill voids in the on ball departments. If he does decide to leave it would also increase Geelongs bargaining power for a better deal with more clubs interested. All the hype surrounding this can be put to bed if Jimmy just signs for the cats, but the longer it goes, the more likely he will leave.
