bartel the next diesel??

hes not quick...or extensively flashy,

but hes stong around the packs, (and in the air for a small bloke)
gets a mountain of the ball each week
his body takes a battering each week, yet when he gets the ball and gets tackled hes composed and well balanced..

remind you of anyone??

anyone else here think bartel will be compared to a greg williams when his careers done...

Don't think so. Yes he's an old fashioned footballer, a little one paced but gets plenty of it but that's where it ends. Bartel is fantastic overhead, where as Williams wasn't. Jimmy hasn't got the genuine hurt factor that Williams had YET with his disposals and thankfully Jimmy isn't as dirty as Diesel but then again it was a different era.

Very similar type players,Bartel better in the air but Williams disposal by hand and foot was superior. Also the diesel had the "mongrel" in him.

true, but he does have a bit of agro in him...hes been rubbed out a few times..diesel was dirty though

I just love when Jimmy wraps someone up in a tackle, he peers back and fro, to the umpire then back at his prey. It is pretty funny to watch actually.

However back to the question, yeah both are similar. I hope that Jimmy will not spit at umpires anytime soon though. Diesel can keep that to himself.
