News Bartel to have Surgery

Was reported in today's Herald Sun (Craig Hutchison) that Jimmy needs an op on his elbow. Apparently the scan revealed ligament and nerve damage, that was suffered not only from his dislocation in round 13 but in the game 3 weeks after.
The operation will sideline him until December and put an end to his hopes of playing against Ireland next month in the International rules series.

Disappointing for Jimmy, Can't see it disrupting his pre-season drastically, just shows what a hard nut the guy is.

Bartel is tougher than Selwood. He goes for pack marks as well as the ground ball. Selwood is younger so I guess it gets more attention but Jimmy is the man and always has been.
