I was just having a look at the odds for the brownlow and noticed Ling was hella short at $1.22 and wondered why. After checking the stats and the votes on here and cats claw, he had a good start to the year but I don't see him polling any votes after rd 14 (Hawthorn game). We all know the umpires love the Jimmy.

The way I see it:

Ling

3 votes v. Richmond Rd. 1
2 votes v. Port Rd. 5
1 vote v. Saints Rd. 7
2 votes v. Adelaide Rd. 12
3 votes v. Hawthorn Rd. 14

Total - 11 votes

Bartel

3 votes v. West Coast Rd. 21
2 votes v. Melbourne Rd. 20
3 votes v. Port Rd. 16
1 vote v. Freo Rd. 10
3 votes v. Kangas Rd. 9
1 vote v. Richmond Rd. 1

Total - 13 votes.

Perhaps Jimmy's votes are a little more debatable but at $8 its worth a few bucks I reckon.

Interesting point to note: Look at the games where Jimmy is going to poll highly. All except the Freo game, were thumping defeats. Many people talk about a sides barometer, perhaps Jimmy is ours. When he gets high possessions and clearances we win big.

Both very good players.

I remember jimmy polled very well in the last half of last year, and i thought would continue his great form this year, but he has been abit inconstant. I thounght he coulda been a big chance for the Charlie this year, but it wasnt to be.

Linga has always been up there polling for us.

Overall both great players, will be interesting to see who polls better. I think Linga will, but bartells good games were usually great

I actually pointed out the same thing to my better half when i was looking at the odds on the weekend.

At that point Jimmy was $9 to get the most Brownlow votes whilst Cameron was $1.20 odd.

I don't know who'll get more votes given both have a history of polling well, but i know where the value is in those odds.
