My Jack Russell Terrior hates having a bath. I told him that he was going to have a bath because he stinks really bad.

He hasn't had a bath in 3 months.

He runs off at the word bath and whenever the tap is running he goes straight into his basket.

It is a very funny thing to see.

Does your dog do the same as mine?

Ummm... no cause I wouldn't let my dog go three weeks without a bath let alone three months... thus, my dog knows what water is

What on earth makes you think people care, or want to discuss this sort of thing?

Try going to google, and search on "Dog Bath", forum and post this stuff there instead.

Did you ever work out what your favourite lolly was?

Mine's a toss up between redskins and those toffee apples... (not real ones lolly ones)

As for bathing the dog... Suzi why dont you just take it in the bath/shower with you?

It is hard to keep him in the shower with me. he would jump out of the shower really quickly and whinge at the door.

That's what got her into this mess in the first place - last bathed 3 months ago.

You seem eager to blame the dog for the smell.

Suzi why dont you get a professional pet groomer to clean him for you.

There! End of discussion!

Go back to text messaging Woodsy or Luke Toia or Anthony Steven or Gavin Dore or whoever it is you text message and know so well!

How that scrubber dog of yours hasn't taken a bath in 3 months is beyond me. My neighbours dog is bathed every week or so. If you can't take care of a dog by giving it a bath regulary, how can you take care of little kids (ie Stevo's little girl?).

Suzi, it's quite a simple concept.

You take your dog outside, near the hose- on a lead.

You tie the lead to something (and therefore the dog)- you make sure the hose is attached to the tap, you turn the tap on- and you aim the hose at the dog.. The dog gets wet, you get the dog shampoo- and you scrub your dog with this shampoo(avoid the face) and then you rinse him with the hose again. Make sure he/she is rinsed thoroughly- dry, and everyones happy.

Or, you pick your dog up (Jack Russels aren't exactly big) carry him into your bathroom, presumably you have a door on your bathroom (the laundry would do as long as it has a big sink and a door) you shut the door, so your dog can't escape. Then you put your dog in the bath, with one hand, you hold him down, with the other, you turn the tap on- making sure there is a plug. Fill the bath a little way up- get a cup or something and splash water over the dog. Scrub the dog with shampoo- still holding him with one hand, and then rinse. Let the water go down the drain- and dry the dog. Everyone is happy.

If I can do this with my dog who dislikes water himself- and who is not some tiny little thing (actually quite big)- then you can do it with your dog.

The simple option is to get a Dog Grooming Service in.

Another option, seeing he is only a small dog, squirt shampoo on him, put him in the toilet bowl, close lid & sit on it, so your dog can't get out, flush toilet a couple of times voila, he is too big to be flushed down the drain, so that's OK, (I don't recommend this method for Chihuahua's) then take him out & dry him. :D

Dont forget guys its Ballarat and its cold.... i think the hose in the backyard thing is a little cruel for this time of season.... ok in summer though. Suzi just buy a baby bath for him/her/it and bath in that, or your laundry sink and tie its lead to the taps or something... just dont **** away otherwise it might jump out and strangle itself. walk ?

why bother. Just throw him in the tumble dryer........meduim heat of course.

It is really funny trying to get him in to the laundry trough. That is where I bath him. He is such a chicken when it comes to water.

I was going to bath him but it is too wet and cold. I will do that on monday.
