Got an update on my NDIS application. Got a phone call today and should get a second meeting with them either this week or next week. Least some progress has been made today

Also sorry about your budgie Footy Is Good.

I am an avian enthusiast myself and have a couple of exotic parrots that are over 20 years old and I need special permits to keep.

They are my children. They are so smart.

This cocky absolutely floored me. Mainly as its something id try and do as a dickhead.

They are all so smart but the odd thing is each state has it's own rules as to what species are and aren't allowed.

And them the permits...

That's why FIG only has budgies. Exotic parrots would outsmart they/them.

Dude, safe space. Exotic parrots can escape anything. Hence the tight enclosure requirements.

bloke i went to uni with was a paraplegic from a car that hit him as a pedestrian.

he’d said that he’d essentially lied and over exaggerated to get any possibility of NDIS support… as someone who couldn’t ever walk again (science fiction not withstanding) and that was in 2018. can’t imagine how shit the application process is now. hoping it all goes well, friend

My father passed away 22 years ago. He spent his last 2 1/2 years in a nursing home, a shadow of his former self. I was a mess when he died but I was happy for him because his agony was over.

I rarely visit his grave because when I do I always end up bawling my eyes out like a baby, and then I’m depressed for the next 3 days.

Miss you more than ever, my beautiful Dad ❤️

My Dad's alive but was a campaigner growing up, so... 🤷‍♂️

This safe space has turned into a therapy session. 🫂
My old man is a piece of shit too. The silver lining is making sure im nothing like him with my boys. Although the campaigners could ease up a bit expecting me to kick the footy for 2 hours every day. **** me, im pulling up sore from backyard kick to kick

I didn’t get along with my Dad much but now that I’m older I understand a lot better why he was the way he was. If you can’t bring yourself to forgive him now, you probably will once he’s gone. You only get one father and if it wasn’t for them, none of us would be here.

He thinks he is.

I rescued him off the road about 12 years ago, he can't fly so I keep him with me.
Galahs are great. Probably the funniest bird. Had a few but they have all since died. They lived a long life, like 30-40 years and I don't know how old they were when I got them. They certainly weren't babies.

I've got a photo that someone took for me when I was in Brazil many years ago of a massive macaw perched on my arm. Even though it's talons were big and sharp, the bird was quite gentle with its grip. It didn't have a go at me thank god as I reckon it could have done a bit of damage. It was quite galah-looking except waaaay bigger - a truly magnificent creature.

This guy is about 25 years old I think.

They can live well beyond 50. He'll probably outlive me.
