Very, very true.

The way he talks, it's like he consciously has to think how he has to put words together. He cannot possibly be the full deck.

I doubt anyone in the house is. ppl in tv these days try to use big words to make themselves look smart.

good pt about the way he talks. when he was putting the moves on krystal you could tell he had it all scripted! he some something along the lines of "i dont think anyone in the house is unintelligent".

When he first went in and they asked him what he did - replied along the lines of "going to uni to be a teacher". Someone asked him whether it was primary or secondary and he replied "secondary" just about before they could finish their question in a tone that suggested he thinks only idiots become primary teachers.

Would someone think of the children!!!!

Another classic was last night they were showing him and Jamie arguing about the 6/half dozen line. Darren was clearly wrong about the phrase but argued whole heartedly that he was in the right.

He has a lot of false confidence in his ability and intelligence.

he did put up a pretty good argument but. i thought he made sense even though he was wrong.

Incidentally, everyone should remember those 2 debating because clearly they are the answer to
- the north korea missle crisis
- war in the middle east
- increasing petrol prices

:D

I've never heard that '6 of one, half a dozen of the other' expression before until now. Can someone please explain to me what the heck it is supposed to mean and how and why it applies in the situation where Camilla didn't think she could eat a whole chicken drumstick?

I must say though the argument between Jamie and Darren was quite funny.

from my understanding "6 of one, half a dozen" is like meh, either or, not caring, either way type of meaning. or maybe say 6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other hand (thus both equal) suggesting that you can have either/or and still have the same qty.

dunno how darren applied it to the drumstick. hes not all there is he?

btw, see the way he attacked the drumstick? feral :)

Thanks mate, i also found a definiton from goenglish.com:

"Six of one, half-dozen of the other" says that two things which people refer to differently are actually the same thing. A "dozen" is a counting word that represents twelve (12) of some particular item, so a "half-dozen" is equal to six (6) of that item, and saying "six of one" is equal to saying "a half-dozen of the other." The "one" and the "other" refer to the two things which you are saying are not so different. Example: "I say she's a stewardess. She says she's a flight attendant. It's six of one, a half-dozen of the other." Although something has been said in two different ways, they ultimately mean the same thing."

I had a fair idea it applied to situations where two things were said differently yet they held the same meaning - hence half a dozen also being 6. In that case what the hell was Darren on about in regards to rephrasing it as 'six OR one, half a dozen of the other', because the implies there are three points of the argument in contention which voids the actual intent and meaning behind the use of the term. To make matters worse the argument Darren put forward was quite poor and made no sense when trying to rebutt Jamie's argument.

And how Darren applied the phrase to Camilla questioning herself as to whether she can eat a whole chicken drumstick is beyond me. He is one strange little boy.

I missed that. What was she saying?

It was about a week or so ago. I tuned in to the 7:00 show. I must admit I hardly watch the show but I caught this. I think the new kid and David were cooking dinner and they were discussing the saying "6 of one half a dozen of the other" and for some reason Perry pipes in and says her saying, how she knows it, is: "12 and zero" i.e 12 of one and zero of the other.

The young kid then says "but that makes no sense, it means the opposite to six of one, etc". Then perry arcs up and starts yelling pretty much blowing everything out of proportion and saying thats how SHE says it and that to HER it means the same thing (WTF!?) and basically to shut the hell up. She's just a crazy obnoxious pig, and for a 39 year-old should be ashamed of herself at how she can be so immature. Someone with such a warped sense of reality however wouldn't realise how much of an idiot she is, i'm sure.

She has a daughter too

Didn't see that, but doesn't really surprise me.

I remember watching last week when she was convinced that 'The Bold and the Beautiful' was actully titled 'The Bald and the Beautiful' only to be told by every other housemate that she was wrong.

No surprises her daughter is repeating year 11...the dumb tart actually said that on tv when gretel asked her what year of school she was in...I mean wouldn't you keep that to yourself?

Krystal will be the next one to go followed by the latest two intruders. She's done herself no favours last week by showing her true bitchy side...dumb move for a girl who did so well for so long.

How they'll nominate tonight,

and btw people Nip/Tuck is never wrong,

David - 2 Krystal 1 Jamie
Camilla - 2 Darren 1 David
Claire - 2 Krystal 1 Darren
Jamie - 2 David 1 Darren
Darren - 2 Camilla 1 Krystal
Krystal - 2 David 1 Darren

David 5
Darren 5
Krystal 5
Camilla 2
Jamie 1
Claire 0

Darren will use the 3 point twist on himself, meaning,
David 5
Krystal 5
Darren 2
Camilla 2

And Darren will go.

Mark it down.

The two new intruders are up on the Official Big Bro website

Chris(NSW), 22, Singer/Waiter. BB says: "Chris is independent and has a lovable arrogance."

Max, (NSW) 20, Cafe manager. Big Brother says: "Likeable and energetic, Max is a 'real lad'."

Both look like lads so hopefully one of them might be a bloke that we might want to win, because out of everyone left i don't want any of them to win.

I cant believe how a grown man can be so pathetic. Granted he is gay, but he is not the stereotypical gay, he works on the land, generally they are more hardened and have a thicker skin.

How does he act and carry on during a drought?

Oh please!

And Krystal, does anyone actually like her?

Did you hear her on nominations tonight?

She used the word 'unsuperior'. Her behaviour over the last week has been attrocious and her true character has come out.

Peter North and BRG you're jealous of David's looks. Why not just 'come out' and admit the truth?

They all have faults in the house, no one more so than Krystal. And the fact she actually thinks she can win is hilarious. She won't go this week but she has absolutely no chance of winning the game.

And Jamie the fakest, dumbest tool in the house. I suppose you are a fan of his as well. Remember him crying? He cried and cried and cried when John and Ashley left and he cried when Perry got evicted. It's funny guys I've noticed neither of you are mentioning him in that regard. It must be a gay thing

You havent read through the thread very well have you?

Go back a few pages and see what I said about Jamie. I cant stand the bloke and have stated this numerous times.

Oh well AC, wrong again.

Not bad.

Almost right dude, you've done better than most would.

What was the tallyboard and who did Darren choose -3 from?
My good friend he took three from himself, and himself is still there.

And good news for you my perverted good friend is that Krystal is up, meaning you may get to feast your dirty little eyes on her 14 year old sister again.

You'd like that, wouldn't you? ;)

I thought this was interesting...

from behindbigbrother.com
"Saturday 8th July
...A source has told us Jamie and Primrose (Jamie's friend) devised a strategy to help Jamie get as far as he could in the game: develop a relationship while in the house.

The two have apparently planned to split Jamie's winnings from the show.

Additionally we hear they have a system of communication, where each of Jamie's coloured headbands he wears during nominations represents a message to the outside..."

From bigbrother.com.au tonight...

"DAY 79 - 10-Jul-2006
...The limelight is not off Jamie for long as Darren is instructed to take Jamie's black headband, which is drying in the sauna, to the Diary Room; it's been confiscated. Jamie's devastated and complains he wanted to wear that on the night he leaves.

After Darren tells Jamie, BB said he would get his headband back at the end of the show, Jamie threatens to go and try to win back his beloved accessory. Darren talks him out of it, telling him BB knows it's an important personal item, so he's just done it to annoy him.

The rest of the HMs don't seem too phased and all climb into bed. The lights are still on, but everyone closes their eyes and tries to get to sleep. Jamie is the only one who lies with his eyes open, thinking about his tragic loss..."

It could just be a coincidence but the fact that BB took his headband off him 2 days after it was posted on BehindBigBrother is a pretty big coincidence.
