Agree 100% The Flaming Lips is an experience I will never forget they were quite simply brilliant.

As for this year with it being very light on for talent and all I am very glad I saw RATM a few years ago because I doubt very much if I will be sober enough to remember this time.

why don't you give your ticket it to someone that will actually use it then?

Mate I've been to them all in Adelaide since '93, some years have stronger line ups than others (eg 93 - 08). Some years you discover a "new" band that sound amazing live but you wouldn't listen to on the wireless if you were paid (eg The Music 2003). Some years you come away disappointed with someone you were desperate to see (eg The Aphex Twin 2004) and some years you just go with no expectations but a few beers with old mates and hopefully come away having a great day and "discovering" some new bands (hopefully 08).
I haven't lived in Adelaide since 98 so I head back each year on a pilgrimage to catch up with old mates with less hair and less brain cells than when it all began and re-live old times and listen to loud music and laugh heartily at how a music festival has become a dress up party with groups of kids in the same outfits cos they are "like so different" to everyone else. The Big Day Out is different things to different people, to me its what I've tried to explain above and to you it's quite probably something else but I'm sure we can both go and experience a fantastic day, just not in the same way.

And no you cannot have my ticket.

Brand New aren't emo, many of their fans are though. Have you seen them live? They are awesome.

i haven't been to the bdo in four years. How early should I plan my run into the d if i'm gonna be there for rage?
There's no way in hell I'm slumming it down the back for ratm. I need to be front and square in the mosh or I'll never forgive myself!!
