Toast Beau Waters

Disposal was fine. Kind of loopy with his field kicking but nothing horrible today. His ability to read the play and help is first class.

Is there anybody you'ld rather have under the high ball in our defensive 50?

Does every comment from you have include something negative about Priddis? It seems like it.

It was actually negative about the poster. Sometimes the comprehension skills on here make me realise why Gillard feels the need to talk at us like we are all 5 years old .....

Speaking of comprehension skills, I didn't say that it wasn't negative about the poster, obviously it was. A thread about Beau Waters and you still feel the need to point out that Priddis was no good, but that's not negative about him?

That was incredible, and he got up so quick! :thumbsu:

No, it wasn't.

Clear enough?

he`s fearless is our Beau got hit by a train and bounces to his feet alot of woosha about him and certainly some-one to have in your side ..:thumbsu:

also will mention Kennedy as well took a big hit to the head and got up and had composure to kick a well deserved goal from the boundry.:thumbsu:

More Tony Evans, IMHO, what do you reckon E87? I ask you because I know both you and I remember Evans, whilst not everyone else does. :p

I jizzed when he went back into the pack today. What courage

Amen brother! :D

Haha, yes we are both old ....

Interesting comparison with Waters ... Certainly Evans was hard like him but not sure either Woosh or Evans were marking contest death threats like Waters... Waters reminds me off Heady with his complete disregard for his own safety in marking contests, the way he single mindedly focuses on the ball and all else be damned... like Heady you'd reckon a premature career ending injury was a chance unfortunately ...

Yes, you're spot on there, Eagle87. Heady had complete disregard for his safety, just as Waters does, and it was his downfall in the end - brilliant player too and just what we need now in the forward line / another Heady. Evans was real tough and hard and much underrated by many, but not the type to go back suicide-like into a park from my memory.

Waters is to be commended for his courage, no doubt.

Yeah, great analogy E87, although Avalor, Evans would stand under packs, just wouldn't mark the ball. Would stand in front of a freight train that guy, look at 3 min into the second quarter of the 1992 GF. :D Yes, I dusted off my Tony Evans memorabilia and had a look, I remembered something from the second quarter in that match.

Back to Waters, he's a very good overhead mark and that just face planting into the Subi Oval surface and bouncing up, a la the indian rubber man, was . :thumbsu::thumbsu: Love the courage. :footy:

Might not be the best kick but reads the play well and as shown this week and his cameo against Port in round 2. Does the type of stuff that is insperational to his team mates.

When it comes to cauldron of finals football, Beau is the type of player that you need.

Having said all that

Knowing the fickle nature of Bigfooty, we will see a roast thread at some point sooner than later

He's hitting some impressive form. I said to Eagles supporting mates before Waters came back that improvement in guys like Naitanui and Shuey, Waters to return and the continued good form of their older big men would get the Eagles into the top 4 by seasons end. If you get the double chance at home then I see a Prelim on the horizon, and anything could happen from there really.

I still remember at pre-season training.
It was 42 degrees, and WATERS got crunched by Weedon.

Instead of lying on the ground he got up immediately and got down to do 50 push ups to show it was only a mosquito bite.

If we get that far it'd be you we play actually. Better hope we don't keep improving. ;):D

I remember you telling us that, and we all got excited about Weedon.

There's a lot to admire about Beau.
