I always hear about bed bugs on current affair but I've never seen them. The reason for bed bugs is dirty parents who let their kids eat and the parents on their bed watching TV.They never change the bed sheets and pillow case also. The 5 dogs and 10 cats on the bed plus the rubbish they stack on the bed including their suitcases with bugs.

Actually, bed bugs are not attracted to food. They feed exclusively on the blood of warm blooded mammals, so the presence of food on the bed would have absolutely no effect.

They never change the bed sheets and pillow case also.

Actually, bed bugs, as far as I know, tend to live in the mattress itself. Changing the sheets and pillow cases would do very little indeed.

The 5 dogs and 10 cats on the bed plus the rubbish they stack on the bed including their suitcases with bugs.

While it is true that bed bugs can be transmitted by dogs, cats and suitcases, whether they are placed on the bed or not is quite irrelevent. If they are in the house, they'll infest it, and eventually make it to the bed. Once again, keeping your pets and suitcases off the bed will do relatively little to stop infestations.

Nice try, though.

just out of interest how do bed bugs know they're in a bed?? surely they can still get into couches or carpet etc,.??

i think these dudes already won the great bug war of 1947 and have occupied the disputed carpet territories ever since

They can, and do. They're just called bed bugs because beds are one of the most effective places for them to nest and feed, and so I guess they are most noticeable there.

Also, interesting fact about bed bugs which I learnt in a bio course I did. They conceive via traumatic insemination; that is, the female doesn't have a vagina. The male literally tears a hole in her abdomen and jizzes into it. Is that hardcore, or what?

Also, male bedbugs will often try this out on other male bedbugs. Gives new meaning to the phrase "tearing a bloke a new arseh*le".

Which is why I have polished floorboards and a leather couch.:thumbsu:

I had to deal with bed bugs once. Holy shit, I would not wish them on my worst enemy.

Think my housemates brought them home from travelling. And by that, I mean my parents let me eat on my bed with my dogs.

So waht your saying is when the bed bugs bite they are really trying to rip you open and creampie inside you.
