I work Monday-Friday. My alarm goes off at 6am during these days. I like my sleep and will try to get my full quota of 8 hours sleep in a night so that I can hit the gym straight after work. Allowing 10 minutes to get to sleep, that makes my desired bed time 9.50pm. Not ideal.

About three years ago I would go to bed at 9 and wake up no later than 5:30, even though I didn't need too. I just liked waking up early so it's a longer day, especially on weekends.

Now my bed time is 1-3:30. I can't remember the last time I went to sleep before 1. I'll probably try to start going to sleep by midnight once uni starts up again though.

Normally in bed by 8:30 and asleep in an hour. Wake up for work at 4am so I like a decent sleep. If I got the weekend off I love a good sleep in.

I got a FitBit for Xmas and it measures your sleep time, times awake and times restless.

It is amazing when you think you have had a great nights sleep to look at the data and see the latter two....generally awake 3-4 times a night and up to 20 episodes of restlessness...and I don't remember any of them.

A more relevant question is probably how many hours sleep everyone gets?

I wake up at 4:30 so I can go to the gym before work (most mornings) and I try and get a minimum of 6.5 hours sleep.

Thanks to work, I'm often asleep any time between 5AM and 7:30AM, waking up at 1:30PM for a 2:30 start. Weekends are different depending on the season. Non footy season I'm asleep at about 7AM and wake up about 2:30, footy season I try to sleep about 1:30 AM to wake up at 6:30, and I'm often asleep about 7:30-8:00 that night. Sundays I have to wake up often at 4AM-4:30AM for a 6AM start at work.

If anyone sleeps tonight, you are a ****ing freak of nature.

Slept in till 930. Was that tired after the week that I just lost the doona and the heat wasn't an issue. Also had a few dreams throughout the night. Thing is when you have a very busy time of it something generally has to get sacrificed and for me that is usually sleep.

Some nights thou I simply just can't sleep. Just not tired/body clock just doesn't work in 24 hour cycles so by the time I'm dog tired it is time to get up. Generally average bed time is about 11.
