As far as I know he has had a go at me on 4 websites now. 2 that I am a member of and 2 I am not. My stuff gets posted on other Carlton websites and been told he has had a go there in the past at me.
Now he is creating aliases and stepping things up on BF as well as making complaints about me to admin.

Yes thats right. This person has made a complaint about me and my behaviour. Sort of ironic isn't ?

But I went to the trouble to explain so the p[osters now whats going on. So if someone joins the Carlton board or draft board and is bombarding me with questions as to my credabilty etc they might know what its about.

It ruins the discussion and makes it distateful for me to put in the time to write up the draft profiles when I have to answer questions from people who have nothing better to do but attack me.

Read this thread for an example of the person hijacking a thread which was created by me to inform people about the upcoming draft and tide people over in the off season while we wait for the real stuff.

The stalker is of course Jet01 who joined that day and headed straight over to start his sneaky "almost polite" but ultimately smear campaign.

This is the same person who thought Sellar was a midfielder and also had to post on the board about who might be okay in the upcoming draft as he had no idea so you get an idea about his credability.

Lets leave it at that and all have a bit of a chuckle about it though. Just I hope that when they return that people know who they really are and dont respond.

In general you keep a lid on my excessive optimism (and sometimes flame it). It would be a shame to lose you through the actions of one moron.

There are some simple steps we can take to inhibit the activities of this stalker. I think logging his IP and then banning it would be a good start. (Not just banning his user name). We can also use some network monitoring gear and trace back who he is, where he is from, service provider and then back track and server ping to to find out suburb etc. Cross matching this with some service provider information, telephone records we can easily identify this person by name and home address. Easy to do. And totally legal with service providers consent, which in this case sounds like it could be justified. Then it would be a simple matter of posting this persons real name and address on any website he stalks you on so that he might understand what it is like to be stalked, by the entire BigFooty.com user community.

JeffDunne and C4.....normally i would agree with you..this is an internet forum and as such "personal" interactions take on different dimensions to normal social interactions.....we have to accept that people not only will but are permitted to disagree and also all personality types are going to post...

However,

I have 'corresponded' with Mojo on BF for some time now...have always known him to be courteous and respectful and it is quite obvious to all he has a good football brain....and is one of the highest quality posters on the board

Having had an insight and understanding of this situation from the beginning i can tell you with complete confidence that this characters posts (Paddy, Pivot, Jet, tc...) have been consistently inaproppriate and consistently show an unhealthy focus on Mojo's posts.....beginning with plaigerism, then moving towards tiring attempts to attack his credibility.... i think there is more going on than meets the eye to most posters here....and this is why in my view it has moved to a form of internet harrassment that adds NOTHING to BF, i don't want to say to much and turn this into Dr Phil amatuer hour...suffice to say that at the very least it constitutes a reasonable degree of harrassment that nobody in their right mind would particularly care to deal with for any length of time.....i think it is long time this IP address was banned by the admin of BF......

I do breakfast radio and occassionally you get one listener who just messages and calls in all the time and gets fixated on making you as uncomfortable as possible.

It's easy to say, but it's best to just take solace in the fact that they are taking time out of their lives for this rubbish. Thus making their lives significantly less interesting than yours.

I think the point I am trying to make is this.

Person A attacks me and does it in a way that is not openly abusive but is undermining. It causes a thread like the "2006 draft" to be hijacked when I am forced to answer questions about my opinions and credability. It is not done out of genuine interest but as to make me look foolish.
How many questions have been asked on the Carlton and draft board by people? Hundreds? How many have I answered to the best of my ability? All of them. Go back through and see I am only to happy to answer genuine questions from people.

I have no problem with people disagreeing with me and its all part of the discussion. However the person in question is deliberately trying to provoke and annoy me. They will not go away and it has been going on for 6 months. Not 1 day.

Then imagine that the poster is at least known and people can see who they are and learn to forget them.

However the problem we get is the person changes usernames and it starts all over again with me having to defend myself. I get pms from new posters and wonder who I am answering to? So person B,C,D and E also get to have a go as well. It all looks like other people but its the same person.

Now throw in plagarium across other Carlton boards from that same poster. Then see them follow me to a new board this week (TBV). Abusive pms to me from themhere on BF that I have deleted unfortuantely.

All this has come about because I do not answer the persons pms and asked to be left alone a very long time ago. There is only so many ways I can answer the same questions over and over. Then my privacy is breached by some of those answers in my pms being copied word for word on other sites. That coupled with the same questions meant I refused to answer anymore.

Then add all that up and ask why would a person continue to want to put up with all that?

The answer is I will not continue. I enjoy posting it fills in time at work when I have nothing to do and is fun and good for me because it makes me think about the list and the draft. Puts my thoughts down and its a good exercise and I like the discussion. But not under those circumstances will I want to continue to put in the effort.

Perhaps what you need to do is take a step back - Dont feel pressured to respond to every question and just post when you are in the mood (for the sake of sharing insight/information/discussion) - in terms of responses limit yourself to those questions that you think the majority of posters might appreciate rather than repeating the same answer to the same question from 5 different posters (wish people read threads carefully).

In essence - post because you enjoy it rather than to satisfy others - you dont need to defend yourself - most reasonable posters will see you for what you are - a good contributor to the drafting/trades section of this board

guys, with all due respect i think you are missing the point......the onus shouldn't be on mojo to ignore this crap...and 'deal' with it, that is diminishing the **** he has had to constantly put up with, the point is that if he is being harrassed with pm's and mindless attempts are made to discredit him and bring his posts down on the boards then he shouldn't have to put up with it.....i can tell you without breaking confidence that mojo is a smart guy with a high responsibility job (even though he has too much spare time!) and he doesn't really need to put up with this crap....why should he.

Albeit in a different form, i think Wisbey has had to put up with too much **** on these boards as well, these guys aren't stupid, and don't mind people disagreeing with them, but it is the personal and disrespectful format that many posts take which is offensive and totally unnecessary.

Outside of complimenting you on your work here Mojo I can't really say much else, as I am not the one going through this.

But if you left it would be a great loss and I sincerely hope for your sake the situation is resolved soon.
