Bees......easy

Gilbbe, Jordy and Bandy should be in the mix for this week's squad. Jordy kicked a few rippers and really provides some explosive pace down the lines, Gilbee had a terrific game I thought and on form should be picked ahead of Garlick.

Bandy took some good grabs, his output was limited but I think he'd be of better use in the 1's at the G.

Kmac was good without setting the world alight. Played in the backline, took a grab or two and got a few kicks; nothing ultra significant though.Probably didn't do enough to push for selection. I fear he is dropping right off the radar to be honest.

Some good young players in that group.
Murphy will play a game or two this season. Spoke well the other day with Birss.
McMahon must nearly be ready to come back in.
Skipper just needs a chance.
Ray and Faulkner might be figthing for the same spot.

Good problem to have.

Quick answer to questions:

1) K-Mac was better then described. Along with Pod he held the backline well enough but gave proper run off half back (something the seniors are suffering from at the moment)

2) Faulkner had good first quarter, an even better 2nd quarter but then the whole complexion of the game changed with lots of in-tight contests which williamstown could escape from (when they got the ball) while we seemed to have more trouble releasing a proper midfielder, hence Faulkner didn't have the room to move like he should have.
Our run started from halfback and turnovers while using the wind to kick long as possible to one-on-ones. Against the wind we combined all lines (forward centre and backs) into a collective gridiron defensive spread, taking advantage of the wind to dampen the enthuasim of williamstown.

Wiggo (lacking hair) looked like he originally dyed his hair Blue then shaved it all off! He looked like all the veins in his head were on show

Croft FF Kretiuk as FP
Wiggo K mac in backline
Condos Murphy in midfield
Bandy as a Half forward (people were saying FP but was always outside 50 if not at CHB)
Everyone who stared off in a position last year was swapped to the exact opposite. It was freaky and confusing at times!

Farren Ray didn't know the wind so kicked low from 50 deep in last quarter after a super run and two bounced its way through (wow!)

Croft did a rawlings kick routine with same result but was taking them all on. Good lead and roving the drops well. Having fun but not an accomplished showing

Murphy has real chance for next week, as well as Jordee

Agree with what you have said BRH up until you said murphy has a real chance next week, sorry murph but i dont think you will be playing next week, there are a few players that will be in the seniors before him, im not saying he wont get a go in the doggies team this year, because i really do think he will play a few games for us, but just not yet. He did play a pretty good game today but and its good to see, because it means the guys in the seniors have to play just that bit better to keep there spot.

Murphy was supposed to be just playing weribee 2nds last year.
That was the expectation. He played heaps of weribee seniors (namely next to all if not all)
He was a reasonable HB but was a better HF by far. He could go into the midfield proper yet still kick a number of goals. Last year he started to do so consistently.

'This year he shows no let down whatsoever and seems to have stepped up. The last 2 people I saw do this were K-Mac and Guido!
Simply put he will select himself irrespective of other players being much more senior-experienced.

Pick the players who are going to perform and not be influenced by the newer flavours of the imports. Who said everyone we brought in has to play in the first 3 weeks of the season? People tend to put the new faces automatically ahead of those who have been around.
Lets get the KPPs necessary to hold our structure (namely Bandy is needly so badly that to not pick him is costing our seniors) and then select or performance, pure and simple.

Marcus Picken also played 1 good game last year as well. Maybe he should have got promoted?

Guido and KMac are setting the senior side alight at the moment as well!

What's the rush to put Bandy in the side? The forward line is functioning well(apart from shots) and there is no need to rush another poor kick for goal into the side.
Yes a fit and in form Bandy would be great, but if he can't get it at Werribee how is going to get it in the seniors?

How did Tim Walsh play?
Is he developing ok and how far off seniors is he?

dont agree. Rawlings provides the inside 50m target, but we took the ball around the boundary to get it to him. Would be nice to have a hard working half forward leading up the ground presenting for the back line to kick it to. Bowden didnt do anywhere near enough in that regard, and Johnson, while extremely hard working, cant be the only target.

With rawlings freeing bandy from the inside 50 target role, bandy can be used as a hard matchup/link man which is his most useful role.

Would think hard about swapping croft for morgan as the goal square target as well. might not fly as high, but knows the scroe when the ball hits the deck.

The boys have a bye this weekend and the weekend after that they play Northen Bullants (which is the weekend that the doggies play hawthorn)...so it isnt possible that murphy will play against hawks...

Hope he gets a game this weekend!!!

Yes stef whats wrong with moving Rawlings up the field to CHF and playing Croft out of the square as you half mentioned.
At least than you minimize Rawlings shots on goal and get his contested marking power across HF.

Again not convinced Bandy is fit.

And when he did, he was ignored anyway.

If hes not fit dont play him.

Dont get me wrong, I want rawlings to have shots on goal, I just want him to have them from 40m rather than 50.

Morgan or Croft will be playing in the square, lynch role where they can keep out of rawlings way.
