yes he does practice all aspects of islam includeing praying, fasting & non drinking of alcohol.

just in refrence to drafting retreads, im not for drafting recycled players but
to say that it hasnt worked in the past so we shouldnt trade at all is not really fair to the current administration or recruiting, coaching staff.

we must remember that this isnt the wallace, frawley era & we have a whole new team in place thats proved thus far to be on the ball & know what they are doing & make the hard call.

hardwick is in his 2nd year & doesnt have to take short cuts he is assured another 3 years as coach before he needs to deliver a top 4 result or have the pressure of performances to answer for

hardwick will only recruit players he rates as long term players that he see's the need for in our future structures

lets give the man & his team a chance to do his work, as long as we still have 3 picks in the top 45-50 im more than happy for him to recruit which players he wants to do his job !

i can kind of see what he is attempting to achieve with recruiting players like houli & sherman, by attempting to recruit A grade integral spine players with our early picks with a sprinkling of B-B+ type fringe, flankers to get us to the next level but the integral ingrediant appears to be the age of the players he is interested in between 20-24 which fits the nucleas of our good players.

LETS GIVE THE PEOPLE INCHARGE THE CHANCE TO DO THEIR JOBS
One of your best posts Gun.
Keep up the good work.
I agree.

If we are picking Houli up in the PSD or a swap for polo i fail to see how this is a bad thing, He hasn't been given much of a go at the Dons and everyone seems to be asking why.

As for Sherman a second round pick is making me nervous unless it is a later pick that we have traded a player for.

Ultimately i am going to back the judgement of the club and do so with much more confidence than i have ever since they let Northey go

theres just a couple of things to judge

players strengths weaknesses and overall performances. combined with who they would be replacing on the list asking are they an upgrade. when all these things are considered you only have to ask what is the correct price to pay and is it critical we get these players.

to me both houli and sherman would be decent pick ups but not with early picks. they are not player types and of high enough quality or consistant performance that would have us paying over the odds for them. we need to go thru the right processes and we need to do it regularly. one of our processes was no poor kicks or decision makers which would rule out sherman well most certainly with any pick inside the first 3 rounds anyway, but it seems its changed after just one season no wonder we are a basket case. we cant stick to a simple rule of thumb for more than a season.
ask yourselves what criteria do houli and sherman meet for us to give up pick 28. it would want to be a damn strict criteria if we are to truly value our early picks.

Why do you condemn the club based on internet rumours?

It was only ever said that only good kicks would be recruited,

Hardwich admitted that once players get to that level you can't improve their skills too much. He did say it is possible to improve decision making though.

I remember Port Adelaide supporters telling us that we did well to get Thomson because he and Williams didn't get along and that was why he wasn't getting a game for them.

The fact remains that a PSD pick is costing us nothing so why not?

Fact is he could not consolidate a position in a poor Essendon team.

We can grow our own rejects without the need to import other teams.

this very attitude by the club is what has had us in the poo for so long.

lets see psd picks are normally reserved for mature players. players who can cover a hole or bring some much needed experience into a club. they are normally reserved for proven good skilled players. and in reverse they are also used on young players who we have had a good look at. yet we have this attitude its just a psd pick and is costing nothing.
cousins anyone or bradshaw or simmonds who was an original psd jurrah and macdonald at melb come to mind you could go on .

when we get the attitude that every pick is important we may well get somewhere.
