If we overlook Morabito:

IT'S 1.30am in the last week of winter and Ben Cunnington cuts a lone figure wading in the Gellibrand River, a few torpedo punts from the Princetown beach.

It is exceptionally dark, and one of the few visible lights comes from the headlights of the family car just metres away.

Inside the car sits Cunnington's ever-patient mother, Cheryl, who sits and waits while the eldest of her four children does his recovery session in the frigid water.

"I've seen a lot of great kids come through our system such as Jonathan Brown, Luke Hodge, Gary Ablett and Jimmy Bartel," Turner said.

"But Ben Cunnington is the most professional kid I have been associated with in my 15 years in the TAC Cup."

Reminds me Hill and his carting bricks

I hope that that is who they draft if they over look morabito but i am hoping more that they draft morabito.

Just look at the successful club they all have big bodied midfielders. Geelong=Joel Corey Saints=Nick Dalsanto + lenny hayes

Bulldogs Adam Cooney + Ryan griffen

woh knows maybe next year it will be FREMANTLE= Anthony Morabito:eek:

If Freo do pass on Morabito, you would think Cunnington would be the logical choice, brings the toughness, dedication and passion that the club and Mark Harvey craves.

Still hoping for Morabito though

I've only seen a u-tube clip of Cunnington but geez he goes hard. My concern is he'll end up beaten and battered like Luke Ball.

Having said that he could end up like Paul Kelly from the Swans. Hopefully everyone was lucky enough to see how he played.

One of my all-time favourite players. I'd love to have our own version of him.

I really want either this kid or Morabito - luckily we're pretty much guaranteed of getting one of them if Hackdorn thinks we're getting Rohan.

I'd be amazed if we overlooked Morabito but adding some Cunnington to our midfield wouldn't go astray.
Looking forward to the Karmichael Hunt/Cunnington match up for years to come, good luck commentators!:p

I don't think we can go wrong with Mora or Cunnington.

I trust the drafting selectors after last years terrific draft, so either way I will be happy.

I hope you are being sarcastic. I don't see any of the Dockers young players being good inside mids?

Inside ball is over rated and work ethic - we need to draft players that work smarter not harder.

I take it you werent a fan of Troy Cook then........

Outside ball is over rated. You dont see too much space on Grand Final day.....

"Work smarter" sounds good, but what does it actually mean? Bit of a cliche eh?

I just want a player who has excellent disposal, ball handling and decision making, is quick, reads the play well and can run, chase and tackle all day long. Its not too much to ask is it?.

Definitely not too much. We'll just ask Gary Ablett Jr if he wants to be re-drafted.

Palmer is a superb inside player as well as an incredible endurance athlete.

Matt DeBoer definately has the potential to become elite in terms of an inside midfielder. Matt had 8 clearances playing against Port Adelaide in round 19. He could project into a Cross type.

Nic Suban played a fulltime midfield role against Essendon in round 21. Also had 8 clearances that day which earned him a rising star nomination.

At the moment we still have Hasleby running around who is pretty reliable as an inside midfielder.

We have a decent brigade of inside options. Our outside options could do with some work. Preferably we get players who can play both outside and inside. If Scully/Trengove/Martin are taken in the 1st 3 picks, I can see why the club is trying to decide between Morabito and Rohan.
