Just thinking of Benny "The Boot", as I often seem to do, and wanted to get in early to request that we never start up any sort of 'woof' thing when he goes the roost. I can just see some sectors of the crowd trying this and dragging us down to the level of Carlton/Stkilda/Collingwood supporters.

Id prefer something original mabe a BOOOOOoooooom but there will b something that starts im sure.

needs a bigger tank, some more muscle and he could dominate our defensive area, and another option up forward when the need arises. those long kicks he has are amazing.

these kicks; (around 30 seconds) are bloody blinders!

Problem is Richmond need him down back at the moment because of his ability to kick the long bombs and short passes. One of the big problems we've had is getting it out of defence when the opposition mans up and we end up turning it over and it resulting in 7 or 8 point goals and demoralises you. Griff gives us more space within 70 from goal to lead into and for us to get it out with, can't stress how important that is for us.

Completely happy to leave Griffiths down back for the moment. Could be an opportunity to play Astbury up forward again when he's ready

What's happening with Brown? Is he a defensive option?

Griffiths is a viable option down back and potentially forward. He needs to be played down there now regardless to develop his defensive mindset (i.e. Deledio the last few years). Once an option opens up forward and/or Astbury forces his way back in later in the year down back we can move him up there.

People shouldn't say he's a forward or he's a back, he's a KPP and he will play where the team needs him

I just rewatched the game (hadn't done so yet) and was amazed at the effort Griffiths was putting in.

I agree he has to stay down back. Even if its just to take on the backup ruckman/help Rance against the really tall forwards. We struggled to overcome Essendon and Carlton mainly because they load their teams with Ruckman who drift/rest forward and were too big for us. This allows us to push Maric/TV forward more.
