Read the pre season report on realfooty.com.au which states that this tall fella is having his best pre-season up to date. Could we finally see Marsh realise his big potential or is this too much to ask for????:)

Stiffy, I think that 212 kg Greek woman I was talking about has used her oversized charms on you!!! :D

I think it's too much to ask for - hope I'm wrong though.

I hope I'm wrong, but I seriously doubt it. It is one thing to have a good pre-season, but it is another thing to overcome a lack of heart. Marsh could have won the Bay Sheffield in record time, but it still wouldn't help him going hard at the ball. Think we should have traded him when he was worth something.

Im hopeful, but will he get the chance?

If he forces Biglands or Clarke out of the "A" team he'll be doin' well.

That leaves a CHB position for him to grab if Stevo stays forward, and although theres been some talk that he could play here Im less convinced that he would have it in him.

TJ, I'm more hopeful Marsh doesn't get the chance & that Biglands & Clarke say sound! :o

I was watching the Crows Collingwood replay today ( at Footy Park) and Marsh actually got run down caught holdin the knacker by none other than Rocca...

Hes a worry.

That IS a worry!! Both the Rocca sisters run with the speed of a ruptured duck!! :(

I think this is a job for Dr Christian Barnard. For those who don't know who he is look up "heart transplant" in the encyclopaedia.
:)

Come on guys if just by some strange twist of fate Marsh actually plays up to his ability & puts in a bottler of a year in the tri colours there will be a lot of BFC posters with a heap of egg on their face [ including me ]

nah, could'nt happen, COULD IT?????

I seriously doubt it, but stranger things have happened. What are the odds of Marsh still being on the Crows' list by the end of 2003? 10/1??

This time last year we were bagging Ken McGregor and he has proved us wrong so there is no reason why Marsh can't. I would be glad to have heap of egg on my face this time next year as long as Marsh realises his potential. He knows this is his last chance to prove himself or see ya later AFC!!!!

True most of us were bagging Kenny, but to be fair to him, he hadn't played too many games. Marsh has been around longer & been given plenty of opportunities to improve. If anything he has gone backwards. Hope I'm wrong & he becomes a gun, but I would be betting that he will be missing from our 2004 list.

Stiffy, there are two differences between Marsh and McGregor.

One of them is that McGregor moved to a totally new position at CHB and made it his own, whereas if Marsh is to make the grade, he will continue to have to make it primarily as a ruckman or not at all, as he does not have the ability to hold down a set position at AFL level.

The second, and most important, is that even when McGregor wasn't playing overly well, at least he looked like he had a heart. IMO Marsh just doesn't put in. The best I could say is that he hasn't got enough fire in his belly.

If the opportunity comes along (god help us) Marsh may just grab it with two hands and make all my comments totally incorrect - I hope he does!!! I'll be happy to be proven wrong and have three inches of egg all over my face (scrambled please :))

My money says I won't.

They tried McGregor at CHB in the pre season in 2000 or 2001 I think. They had Crowell at FB too. I remember it because Rowe and McDermott carried on like old women on 5AA cos they didnt like it and had a go at Gazza.

As for Mr Marsh, did you see his pic in the paper today? Will he ever put on some muscle?

Yeah, Hentschel looks to have good size/weight about him when you compare him to Biglands in the pic. I reckon this could be his break-through year in the AFL.

That can only help him. I still think he is a touch raw for AFL at the moment but thats coming from a bloke on the other side of the globe. I will have to watch him at training when I come back to make up my mind;) :D :)
