Not sure if anyone cares but here's Ben McKinley's VFL Highlights as of early May (he's #68):

He still looks very slow for mine. He's just played the one game this year for North Melbourne, which was against WCE in round 1. He was subbed out in the third quarter after kicking 2 behinds and collecting only 5 possessions.

The new number 27 makes me forget McKinley ever played for us. I really thought he would do something at North.

i was a little annoyed at the time when we got so little for him...but i suppose he's really proving to be of that worth for north at the moment.

he can be a good player when he wants to be. i'm not sure why they got him when they already had aaron edwards though.

just thinking of having darling in there now over mckinley...wow, the perfect replacement really.

How quickly you forget names like Ash Hansen and Ben McKinley...

How quickly you forget Ash Hansen was actually a very important part of our premiership team and successful years. He straightened the team up and was an important link in the chain. The stats with us winning when he played, and losing when he didnt speak for themselves.

Ben McKinley on the other hand didnt achieve much - that said he had one consistent year and was leading goal kicker in 2008 for West Coast.

I can't understand the animosity toward McKinley.

He was a well-skilled player that lead our goal-kicking one year and showed loyalty to the club, when plenty of people expected he wouldn't. It's a shame his career hasn't taken off, but he's an intelligent, educated person that will be able to succeed away from football and as an Eagles fan, I hope he does.

Compare that to Jack Darling's highlights...what an upgrade. From crab to future Elite.

Well spoken

My least liked eagle last year. Useless player yesterday, useless player today, forever useless.

Playing in the VFL most of the year and he has a minute and half of highlights which are mainly just effective kicks? Would hate to see what he does the rest of the time.

I can't speak for others, but I bare no animosity towards Mckinley.

He could be a whiz at integral calculus for all I care, but he was on West Coast's list to play footy. He showed in glimpses that he has the talent to succeed at AFL level, but he showed on more occasions that he lacks the work rate.

We won a flag with Armstrong in a FP over Sampi. We currently have Nicoski in the 22 over Weedon/Strijk. Players like Mckinley are always going to frustrate the hell out of people, because his output for the most part is not enough for a player who seems to jog around and provide bugger all defensive effort, and people just want to see him seem to be trying harder.

He should still be getting more game time for North than he is.
So long as it's not against us I really want to see Seaby, Spangher & Mckinley as regulars in ther respective sides.
With Mumford out, Seaby gets a chance & I hope he dominates this weekend.

well said marlin...the level of animosity towards some players from some supporters or posters is absolutely irrational..or just immature. they dont even know these people, and they talk about them like they were just chattel.
its just footy guys..and the players are just people..like you (but then again, maybe theyre better than you?)

ben may not be an A grade footballer, but he moves on, so does footy..it doesnt make him an idiot,or the devil incarnate!?

I'm not sure but didn't he request to be traded? Not very loyal if that's the case.
