Ben Nason

I thought Nason was pretty good last year but he hasn't had much of a go this year. I know he was injured early, but he has been back for a number of weeks now but can't seem to get a gig (apart from one or two games from memory). For those that follow the VFL closer than I do, what is the deal with him? I would think we should put him in the seniors for a few weeks (it's not like everyone in the senior team necessarily deserves their spot at the moment). What do people think?

For one he couldn't do any worse.And secondly his type of play is something we are screaming out for ATM.We are badly missing Matt White too.

nason needs upper body strength 2012 should be a better year providing he grows his dreadlocks back!

good call - DEFINETELY lowered his centre of gravity cutting em and will take months to adjust.
would like to see him in v GCS to add a bit of pace, in a game where we wont be exposed playing lightweights

He's playing well in the VFL and I think he deserves a game before some of the other players currently in the Richmond side (and for a while).

He's just a bit unlucky at the moment.

There's nothing really special about him, he can run and is a decent kick but that's really it. He's small, physically weak and doesn't get a lot of the ball and doesn't kick a lot of goals.

Might come in soon but reckon needs a big 2nd half of the year to not be delisted IMO. Especially considering he came in as a mature aged recruit not an 18 year old.

I understand but you can only do what you can do.
In any debut year under any circumstances I think it's a pretty fair effort.
I actually think he gets a tick for goals strike rate.

Perhaps it's more an indictment on the others but still noteworthy from Nason.

lol matt white as if we dont have enough butchers of the ball in the team atm.
what is white going to bring to the table. few possesions poor skills and turnovers. but wait he can run fast and tag some opposition no hopers.

after 6 yrs and for the type of player he is matt white would be one of the first id delist come yrs end. 6 yrs is more than long enough.

i know lets play him just add him to those other highly polished small goal kicking machines in nahas king edwards.bloody hell lets fix problems not add to them.

Never said White was a Gun but he has what we lack sorely I would expect you to see that. It's more a reflection on our list than an endorsement of White and that's just how it is.

Doesn't seem to have many tricks to his bow. He only really got games last year because Hardwick liked him. He needs either get more possessions, kick more goals, or do more damage with ball in hand to make it in this league.

Seriously though, he was a pick 79! The fact he hot games last year and played reasonably well, and now has been pushed out if the team is a positive for the RFC. God....more ppl calling for another delisting. he's gonna get some kms in the legs, and kgs on the limbs and maybe kick on.
At pick 79, 50 games would be a recruiter win!

would have him over farmer and hislop no question. didnt get much of a go early on but didnt he kick 2 and get a fair bit of the ball in about a half (off the sub bench for an injury) earlier in the year? you guys expect him to be getting a lot of ball and kicking goals but how can you do much playing a couple of games coming on as the sub in the last quarter. he has the gut running and determination to put himself on the line and work that we have been missing the last month or so. also he kicked about a goal a game last year, as a small first year player i dont know what else you can expect.

Can't say Im a big fan of his and I don't really hold out a lot of hope for him making it but one thing I will say is that he has got a pretty good ability at finding space.. He seems to know where to run and reads the play ok..

Could be a handy depth player if he got stronger and bigger and for a pick 79 or whatever he was that's a win....

Yarran, Murphy, Betts, Carazzo, Garlett, Simpson....our short people aren't as good as their short people.

Keep King, Foley, Houli. You might get something for Nahas, White, Farmer and Edwards.

Hicks should be riding in the 1st at Flemington. I thought he was going to get chucked into row 20 when he played last year.
