He was right on the edge of his kicking distance and he seemed a little unsure of himself, then the nerves got to him. I dont think I have ever seen him do that before, or at least no-where near to that extent.

my thoughts also, as soon as he started the Ballet crap i knew he wasnt going to kick it. It really surprised me the coaches havent got that out his system.

I must admit he did play well. I have seem all his games and thought he was rubbish and not deserving of a spot after prvious games, but he should be in next week

Go back and watch the Hawks game from last year again. He was far from rubbish.

Very encouraging performance. Looks mobile, took some strong marks, kicked deep into the goalsquare to give our forwards a chance.

Defensively will take a while to get up to AFL standard. Cant wait to see him next year after another summer in the gym.

I'm with you there. He did get pushed under the ball 3 or 4 times but in another 12 months he will hod his ground and take those marks. His field kicking is quite good. His goal kicking will improve. Its just nerves thats all. Its a bit like when your running in to bowl in cricket. If you loose your rythem or take a short step here or there you loose your momentum.

BT was spending one-on-one time with Reid during the week, I think it's safe to say that was not the pre-shot routine they would have been working on. Clearly, Reid crapped his dacks. However, it was overall a very promising showing and I think given more opportunity at AFL level he'll grow into the role nicely. :)

Reid looked very good yesterday. Tall, springy and mobile. No idea about that run-up but he was impressive around the ground.

He kicked well when he wasn't under pressure that's for sure. That run up was certainly strange, but perhaps something he'll work on, or something that wouldn't normally happen? Who knows. I can't imagine that sort of run up would enable a normal free flowing kick off the boot.
