I have always had a good opinion of him, if he can clean up some disposal then he is a lock in our 22.

He's been a solid and easily best 22 defender prior to injury up until now, he just showed some extra sides to his game that garnered attention. The fact he can actually play shouldn't be news.

solid yes, but prior to last night had disposal and decision making issues - always made me nervous whenever he got the ball in a similar way to Presti. Tooves is similar but Alan has the benefit of being able to play on taller players.
I don't question his heart BTW.

If you're right, I look forward to seeing him in the run on side every week

I'm not a fan of Sinclair that's been my opinion for a while and I have every right for him to show his injury free wares this year to make me change. I have rewatched the game and rate him an even par overall.
He had some very poor defensive lapses in the first half two of which resulted in 2 goals. To his credit he had two outstanding efforts in the last quarter which each saved certain goals and was one of the few that ran out the 4 quarters. If he can offer up more of the latter rather than what he started with then he will be on his way.
What worries me to date is he doesn't always make use of his speed and maturity to advantage. Particularly when man on man or zoning he still gets caught ball watching letting his opponent get free or he arrives too late to stop a flow on disposal. He is not a natural tackler and his year on year stats show that. If he is to be a rebounder or link man then his disposal % needs to be high which I will say he gets the big thumbs up from Friday night.
Outside my 22 until he can produce that consistently rather than 2-3 times a year. Took a big step against hungry Cats and I look forward to seeing more of the same since I will always support every Pies player on the list that plays with effort and doesn't drop his head just as I will bag them when they don't.

Big call. Ramsay is a mile behind Williams right now but I don't think it's out of the question yet... Doubt Ramsay will ever be as agile or mobile as Williams is though.

Exactly. Pre season games mean shit. Karnezis showed he could play decent footy in Feb.

I see that kind of hype more with Cox then with Sinclair to be honest. Sinclair might just be better then some perceived him to beevrn though he didn't do everything right. Mackie made a nice contribution to the highlight reels too. Can't see pitchforks out at the Geelong board.
