Rumour has it that he has been approached by some past players not happy with the rumoured incumbent.

Again its only rumour but a third name has been thrown up for the Dev coaching job. Anyone confirm?

what are the picks for this weekend??

Will swanpool pick up their first win??
I think so.... they look like a keen lot of blokes having a go..and their last game for the year... upset on the cards...

Dont think so.... it should be close... maybe a good game but tatong to run out 30+ point winners

Seems to be talk of Devenish to try and reform for next year but what are Swanpools chances of feilding a side next year?
A long season with no wins!
11 wins in the last 5 years!
Someone needs to pull their finger out and start organising for next year early!

Hey Roger I have heard (rumour only) that you maybe not committed for next year so why don 't you make it your project. You coach Longwood well but how do you think you would go taking on Swanpool. What things would you put into place? would not be an easy job.

I wouldnt say Longwood's easy job Bombers.

1st thing i would do if i was going to coach Swanpool would be take on the job early, the longer they spend looking for a coach the harder it will be for next season. Who is coaching Swanpool next year? Is Michael Burgess going around again?
2. obtain a reserves coach.
3. contact all current players and find out who is and who is not comming back.
4. organise your budget and start recruiting players.
5. get ans many locals playing as you can.
6. target players that will improve your side and the players around them.
7. do a hard pre-season but keep in mind that in a 5 team comp its more important to be playing well at the end of the season than it is at the start.

And Bombers I havnt commited to Longwood for next year (the subject has not come up) but 1 thing for certain though is I wouldnt coach Swanpool.

hey bombers fan,
i was just curious as to where you have heard these rumours do u really think brad frampton could poach players from all blacks

hey bench warmer what are your thoughts on brad frampton maybe coaching dev what were your thoughts when he was sacked by all blacks from the 3rds

For what it is worth,Devenish needs a coach with a higher profile than your average joe blo, they need someone that can recruit quality players as well as attracting old players back to the club.Giving the job to just anybody is a bandaid fix that might last a year or two but might spell more trouble. Not sure if recruiting a coach from the blacks as they are already introuble after not winning a game all year l dont think, they dont have quality players themselves...

The swans wouldn't be a bad side to take on , only 100 goals kicked for the season is the difference between top and bottom, add 2 key forwards, develope the yougsters there and get some of their older boys fit and they are not far away.
This would be an ideal opportunity for someone willing to build a side , far better than taking on a older skilled side .... they have great faciltiies and a bloke (burgo) that has done nothing but put 200% into this season .
Some changes that may need to happen would be commitee etc.
Rumblings are swans will be there abouts next year...... this is only my opinion though..

Yea well i thought brad frampton would be bad news if he were to coach a dev side but according to a mate who played all blacks 3rds he didn't get fired he quit but i would say he is just sticking up for him. brad did train a side to win the finals so maybe he could be able to do the job. although his methods of coaching that i've heard are some what diffrent to any other coach in B & D. D you think he should coach again Spy

My grandmother could have coached the 05&06 all blacks 3rds to finals, definitely underachieved in 06. Chooka didn’t resign, i would call it sacked but to put it technically the club just chose not to re-appoint him.

NOPE!!
The difference between top and bottom for the season was 13 wins. Goorambat 13 wins - 3 losses to Swanpool 0 wins - 16 losses.
Why are we talking about coaching Swanpool? Is this years coach not coaching next year? Seems odd that he wouldnt coach again knowing they dont need too many players to improve on this year. Then again they may not need to improve, as all other sides may drop off.
Finally the finals are here after 20 weeks and playing each other 4 times is great to get anouther crack at each other. Goorambat and Bonnie Doon will go into this week as favorites but im sure Longwood and Tatong wont make it easy for them.
Goorambat got away from us in the second half on Saturday and with a wedding this week on top of the injuries we already have we will need to improve quite a lot.
Bonnie Doon should be too strong for Tatong but if Tatong find the form they showed at the start of the year they may come away from the game with a win.
Scott Paukle won longwood B&F from Brendon Vercoe by 1 vote. Has anyone else had their counts?

Steve Murray won Swanpool B&F with Peter Robinson coming second a few votes behind.
As for the Swanpool coaching role Burgo has work commitments that will restrict his availability for some training and game days, and Kingy will be back playing next year so may not want the added pressure. I expect these guys to ramain as assistant though.

so jax i am guessing you dont think brad frampton would put dev back on the field
ln my opinion l dont think he is the guy to get the club the hype that it needs to be successfull.Do you think he is the man for the job??????

So The first week of the finials have been played out and there have been a few big suprises tatong 2nds beating doon was intresting but the tatong 1st wern't so lucky going down by 155 points gorambat 1sts with a 40 point win and gorambat 2nds with a 73 point win what are the thoughts of next weeks winners between longwood 2nd's vrs tatong and longwood firsts and doon?

I watched Longwood yesterday and they could nt do a thing right. First quarter cost them the game but the disposal was less than average. Credit to Bats must be given as they demolished any challenge early.
I also watched Doon today and was surprised they were allowed to run so freely and not be manned up. Longwood V Doon on a large ground is going to be interesting as Longwood will like a larger ground and dry day as well.
In the reserves Longwood will have the edge although Tatong should be able to bring a few back.
Longwood will be helped by up to 8 inclusions as there was a wedding on the weekend. The seniors will be happy to get the 4 blokes missing and I think the 2nds will be happy to have a bench this week.

Who are you The Bench Warmer and who's The No 1 Bombers Fan?
You both would have to be fairly dissapointed in how you finished off for the year. Apart from a 5 min patch in the second quarter (but you were unable to put goals on the score board) Doon had control all day. I thought too few of your players were accountable for there opposition and not enough players were pushing to the contests. I though Anderson played well and Webster was very good.
Im not sure what went wrong in the first quarter of our game other than we tried a couple of things that obvously did not work. It was a fairly tight game from then on other than in the 3rd quarter when we waisted opportunities and kicked something like 2 goals 10.
All going well we should have 1 or 2 players come back into the side that will strengthen us and hopefully we can push Doon for that remaining spot in the Grand Final.
