Cheers John Carrot, checked out that sight has some great stuff on it. Looking forward to hearing whats going on in at "redleg stadium" and the league in general. Just hope the BDFL can continue in either its current form or in an expanded one. Grassrooots footy at its best.

Have heard Doc Wellwood (B'Doons) coach last year has been appointed at the Swans as senior coach, and Nick Fritsch as his assistant! Can anyone from Swanpool confirm?

If Swanpool look like being successful will Walker go back? Would be a big get to have Fritsch in their forward line. Is Fritsch a Boonie Doon local?

Bonnie Doon - Wellwood to coach again though not actually coaching at all. The Tanners to keep the monopoly at the place with no water!
Devenish - God himself wont be able to reincarnate this lost cause.
Goorambat - Burnell to make it 3 in a row as players like Brown, Doxey and Nolan not prepared to have a go in a real league.
Longwood - Redfern to be shown the door with Finch to take the reins.
Swanpool - To fold.
Tatong - Moss to stand down with Vallender to take control of the Bali nine.
3rd to be introduced as an 11 aside game to give clubs a chance to run the kids into the ground and burn them out.

Appears not to be too far of the mark there cellar.

Swannie will be alright this year, apparently robo has been sighted training with all blacks, no word on burgo and muzz's intentions. Should keep most of last years young players, King will be back and pick up a few others, will finish in the top 5 this year!

i can't really come out and say we are going to win the flag in '08 when we haven't been on the training track yet, but everything is positive off field, and we will be starting off on the right foot. I think this year we will see all 5 teams being competitive.

Good optimism middie! Making the five the in the BDFL is an achievement in itself. I have a feeling that the young bloods from Swannie might be tougher now ( .. as in competitive) after the melt down at Doon.
But don't discount the "Mexicans" from down south in their sombreros and red socks. They tend to have "siesta" in the summer but then turn into .. the mouse that roars with the sombrero and RED scarf .. "ariba, ariba Speedy Gonzales" once the ball is bounced. Maybe our aforementioned mate might have some South American, Columbian associates to put a stop to it all .. que? You know what I mean Rogerdodger!!
Now that I've got your attention. Redlegs and Blue start training on Wednesday, 23 January, 2008 at Redlegs stadium, continuing on Wednesday nights until .. it bloody cools off!!

Cellar Dweller ( ie Nostradarmus!), didn't do a bad job back on 24 Sep.07 to make this call.
Ticks for the Devenish outcome and the Doon Tanner dominance, which leads to a Doc in Swanpool! Cellar, you are way out of line with the way the Swannies are looking.
Geg Vallender with Ray T are the ones to lead Tatong forward but mate! .. The "Bali 9" .. nearly wet me'self .. beautiful!

The Bats keep on keeping on. If BDFL fails and all is lost, the Redlegs would just like to play Goorambat once at each home ground through the season just for the banter, beer and biffo!!!

But now Cellar Dweller .. I kick arse!
Find out what the 11 a side comp is all about before chucking it out. I know it's social junior footy but the VCFL is crucifying the BDFL by saying that if they want a true thirds comp, they need to work with the Benalla Junior league. The BJ League is managed by Benalla Saints and Benalla All Blacks affiliates, who won't talk to the executive of the Benalla & District League.
More so, the VCFL introduced an age limit of 16 years for junior footy comps in 2005 but gave a dispensation arrangement for Benalla and Albury junior leagues because of their longevity.
Wangaratta junior league went back to U14 and U16 in 2003 ( after 70 years ) and now work in unisom with the O&M and the O&K.

Immediate survival for the BDFL is utmost but if a club has to continue in 2009 under the approval of the VCFL then some form of third level footy approval is imperative.

How are things in the veggie garden John?

Now on the 11 a side 3rds.
Where you able to see the game grand final day John?
In watching that game I can not see the benefit of running the absolute guts out of kids to justify a game of football. There are some big ovals in the B&D (bat cave, lake & heaven) and only having 11 aside leaves a hell of a lot of space to cover.

As for the VCFL, if they do not want to make the Benalla juniors comply to the rules of the rest of the state therefore creating a problem for the B&D maybe clubs need to manage their own future.

On anouther matter John, going over some of your imformation released to the press in regards to the intentions of the LFC I dont believe you were totaly truthfull. There are a lot of people involved in football clubs and a lot of people know a lot of people and it did come to my attention during last year that a certain mexican was looking ouside home!

Now the dog situation was a surprise but I supose with all those ego's over there its not that surprising. Swanpool not winning a game lead me to belive survival would be a problem, but the long bearded man being booted from the town with no water frontage has given a life line.

Also on Redda, he may be a long term redleg but only coaching for 1 year then retiering leads me to believe there may be more to the story and my people who know people tell me there are quite a few leaving!!

Isn't the infamous Ray T now on the committee at Benalla Saints? The BDJFL isn't run by Saints and Blacks affiliates, it's just happens that those there were the ones willing to give up their time to run it. Something the District league guys may have overlooked. As for the Wang junior league working in unison with the O&K, their relationship is similar to that of the BDFL and the VCFL, strained at best! Realistically there aren't enough kids anymore in the 14 - 17 yo bracket to support what is currently out there without dismantling the Benalla Junior league. Good post though
