Dont think that I blame all of our injuries on Quinn. In fact I was one of the more practical people that could see that Quinn wasnt at fault for some of our injuries like Gumbleton's collarbone etc. I realised recently that our youngsters seem to always pick up an injury early in their career and some cop quite significant injuries. Stress fractures for example due to poor management. Quinn 'moving on' was some of the best news I have heard recently. Lets hope the club invests the required time and effort in picking a quality replacement for Quinn.

Thats a pretty broad statement given you dont have the medical history or first hand knowledge of any such injuries. It is easy to blame Quinn for these type of injures but if the player comes into the system at Essendon and he already has some problems building up in these areas then you are limited in what you can do. They have to increase the work load by a lot to get these guys up to a level where they can start to play consistant AFL footy in their second season.

As far as picking a replacement goes ,whoever it is will still have to work with the same medical staff. Lets hope that more money is spent so that whoever comes in has the budget to do things properly. Otherwise will will still have the same results.

Are you sure he didn't jump before he was pushed?

No he would not have been pushed.
He is leaving becasue the changes in his role where heading in a direction that he did not find as rewarding. He is a hands on guy and what he was doing this year was more of a managing role.
If the club was keen to move him on then they would have let him go to Carlton at the end of last season.

Was he blowing hard? Mainly playing across half back? Loose? Does he look more bulky then back in Round 2 which is the last time most of us saw him?
Any Essendon players down there? Were any of the other players looking particularly unfit today? All pull up well?

He seemed pretty comfortable when he was rotated off the bench, fitness wise. Played the 'sweeper' role across back, was loosed most of the time and still read the play well and positioned himself in the right spots.
Still has the same body shape as round 2.

The Dustbin was there. :D Dean Rioli, Knighter and Campo were there also. I thinks it fantastic Fletch is there after playing yesterday, is a regular at most Bendigo games. :thumbsu:

Hocking, Hislop, Dempsey and Daniher will all be better for the run today. Not sure how they all pulled up, but all 4 were on the ground at the final siren.

Just wondering on People who went - What did you think of the Pies Players?

Stanley and Dawes were best but of the less obvious I liked the look of Tobias Thoolen, has a good set of hands.

Edit. I forgot too Damian Sully was pretty impressive for you guys as well, not having to bounce it in the wet must have helped a bit.

Ah cheers. Good to hear. Almost think he should have one more week but then could come in against West Coast. He would enjoy the wide open spaces at Subiaco. His run would be invaluabe there. Guys like Nash and Lovett-Murray would hope to have played well next week.
Fletcher is a star. Nice to hear he makes time for Bendigo games. Id like to think Lloyd does the same thing usually. Been a nice change this week to actually have players to look out for as the past few weeks has had a limited amount of Essendon players and not the ones that I have high hopes for.

Well he's had a haircut and he was wearing long sleeves so it was hard to say, Lovett was blowing a lot harder in the last qtr than Dempsey and Andrew spent most of the match in 2nd gear.

McVeigh had a bit of a limp going on looks a bit doubtful. :D

Haha he should be back in a few weeks.

Does Lovett deserve to come straight back in next week? Was his attitude of a cocky nature where he knew he was streets above his opposition or did he exert himself to a satisfying extent?

Lovett has days like that at AFL level so its hard to know what going on but Im sure Knights would have had an idea of what he expected from him. Id say it all depends on injuries. Nope, have no gossip. Princes Park has been let run down since they stopped playing matches there.

In a nutshell:

Paddy's ribs are fine, just got winded badly

Gumby is hoping to be back within the next couple of weeks and was moving preety well

Myers is showing no signs of an aggravated foot from what I saw

On the Bendigo coverage on BomberTV, Monfries mentioned that although Gumby is starting to train and get himself fit, he may not play another game this season seeing that Bendigo doesn't have many games left

I spoke to him as he was walking across the ground towards the rooms at half time, he said he was hopeful that he could be back within 2 weeks.

Just looking at the stats on this game on the website and staggering that only 2 players Lovett and Skipworth had more than 16 touches.

Only another 6 had more than 8 touches.

I didn't see the game but surely the bloke taking the stats must have been having a few beers. Or were we that bad?

5 pages of info and not one mention of Grant Weeks who kicked 5 of the Bombers 6 goals for the day a terrific effort especially against he odds one would think. Has had a fine season between defence and attack and who knows might be an outside chance somewhere late in the draft. Was highly rated in the last year of TAC cup.

Probably not tall enough for a leading forward at AFL level. Could be similar to a Mark Williams at the Hawks but wouldnt be near Williams' skill level. Played some alrite games last year as well.
