With a midfield likely to be made up of Stevo, Kouta, Simpson, Murphy and Walker next year aswell as the inevitable addition of a 2007 young gun midfielder, there only seems to be room for 1 more rotating in and under type midfielder? I think that these three are all vying for the same spot in the team, and the fact that they are essentially midfielders only, rather that midfield/HBF or Midfield/FP type players will make it even more difficult.
Who if any, do you think should get the one to get the nod of these three? And why? Or is there room for a couple of these guys?

Gee it's nice to finally have some depth....

Not sure that blackwell will fit into this category as he developes.
Haven't seen enough of smith yet to comment, and Bentick has been quite good.
The great thing is that with each one pushing the other for a spot it can only be a win for the club. Even with Jackson now pushing for a spot with ??Flint next year and ?Gibbs, there will be pressure on all the midfielders (including the senior ones) to keep their spot. I can't wait.
Hopefully JK can put some pressure on the forwards for a spot too, and maybe a KPP backman in the draft will keep the backs under the pump - the tide is turning!

kouta will spend more time in the fwd line or even on the bench

murphy can clearly play a resting midfielder in the FP

walker should spend more time in the midfield, but may still be need on ocassions to play down back or have run with roles

I reckon Smith will find alot of the ball next year. He was a ball magnet at the Cannons and with the Bullants. I think next year could be a good year for him.

All three are really up against it. They are all short and slow and can not play anywhere but on ball. Seems to me that Blackwell is the most creative and therefore most likely to find something that will enable a prolonged career.

I would think the other two are highly likely to be gone within 2-3 years. Especially as the list develops.

Would've thought Scotland would get a gig...

if bentick can get some pace he'd be a great negating/ball finding midfielder as he has been tackling awesome this year and has good skills. Just the pace. But i'd think blackwell and bentick over smith...
