OK I actually like this bloke and the way he goes at it, good honest trier... but thats about it. Does the odd good thing but just doesn't have the tools, too small, too slow, turns it over too often.

But maybe I'm being harsh after today's dissapointment.

Thoughts?

i thought he was pretty average today, imo its just been one of his lesser games.

His still young, plenty of upside left in Bentick but today he was no match for sydney's 'foot soldiers' in Kirk, bolton and co.

Pretty sure people said that about bolton and kirk as well

As I said his still young but like the rest of our list needs to get stronger, faster, sharper but that'll come IMO.

Have said it elsewhere - he, like a couple of more accomplished players, had a shocker until the last Q.

He has to be at his best - he has to be given reign to read the taps and if he can't be good at this 2/3 weeks then he may be replaced (if we can find another hardnut).

The difference he made when he finally got into the game in last Q is why we can use his best (he no longer had to worry about Bolton). He wasn't actually shown up for speed today and when you are in the engine room against the Swans you are going to cough it up under pressure sometimes.

I think he might still get a game next week but needs a good one

Against good teams you will always get tackled a lot (like he used to do to them) but his bigger problem is not getting it enough. I think the reason for both of these is that he is standing flat footed and not taking a gamble on his instincts

I've a feeling that Bentick and Hadley will continually take each others spot. Hadley gets injured a lot and Benticks' form slides up and down a lot.

So, between them, we almost have one operating in and under footballer. As one gets hurt or falls in a heap, the other is pretty much ready to step into the spotlight.
Maybe they should both play for half their salary. Only seems fair to the members.

i agree that AB plays his best footy when he doesn't have to tag. Giving him, hayes and bolton, restricts him from what he does best, hunt the footy in close. He is our best at this. Leave the tagging to the specialists and let AB boss the packs!!

True but don't listen to what all his knockers say - he had no more of Hayes than most of the other mids (bluebear verifies this in AB's buddy thread)

Since the moment I saw him play I have said he is not upto AFL football and nothing he has done since has chnaged my mind.

His game on J Bolton was without doubt the main reason we lost. J Bolton destroyed us and add that to the list of opposition mids who have slaughtered him and it is getting beyond a joke.

- To slow
- Fumbles
- No skill so no point getting it
- Tackles YES but cannot chase his man when runs into space
- Would of been handy in football in the 80's.

Note: Russell must also go.

180tyyyyy............if you were playing darts! As i mentioned before in another thread i would like to see an updated version of that Hadley v Bentick poll now!

He might lay plenty of tackles but what does that really tell us....he is always second to the ball - far to slow and can only kick about 15-25 metres!

I thought Bentick had been really good since he won his spot in the side earlier this year. Really forced me to change my mind about him, was playing good footy. But...had an ok game against Collingwood and then has really dropped off against Richmond, St Kilda, Sydney. Has had a shocking month and really gone missing

Sorry Bentick fans but he's no good. Can't run, cant kick, is slow with his hands and lacks consistancy. Gives away too many holding the ball free kicks.
Hadley or Jackson if he can get bigger and stronger are who I'd like to see replace him.
