Bentley - Does he have a future at Carlton?

Like Garlett in round 3 against Essendon, having Bentley in the side yesterday was like playing with 17 men on the ground. terrible decision to select him.

too slow
bad ball handling
poor skills

No, not a good player. Port delisted him for a reason.

Who ever selected him on the MC needs to have a good hard look at themselves and give them selves a kick in the arse. If he and Cloke are in the team this week then we know it's the MC holding us back by making poor decisions.

I was one (of a number) who thought it would be Hadley coming in for Johnson.

I nearly fell over when i read that they picked Bentley.

Hadley is just as hard at it as Bentley, and doesn't allow the knowledge that body contact is imminent to affect his clean handling of the ball or clean disposal. He is in every way a classy player.

Every time Bentley turned it over in the early stages of the game i couldn't help thinking to myself "Hads wouldn't have ****ed that up - we'd still have possession".

I can only assume that Hads may have been carrying a niggle, or that Bentley is in possession of photographs of Ratts and a sheep/goat/donkey/random other farm animal.

Love that. You idiot. :D:thumbsu:

I agree with the OP. This bloke is not good enough to be in our starting 22. There are at least ten other blokes that are infront of him.

Against the Dawks he struggled to get his hands on the ball. In the pre-season he butchered the ball when he got it.

Unless he can get 40 to 50 possessions per game with the Ants like Carrazo, he does not warrent another call up this year.

I'd prefer to give someone another chance rather than pot someone after a week.

Some things he did were ok and others not. Some players fell over all day which was not good enough but apparently we are not allowed to mention him anymore.

He may not last this week and will most likely head back to the bullants for Hadley, but we didn't lose on Saturday because of Bentley's inclusion.
